Muhammad Mustafa, MD

Has blinders on and does not see past his own prejudices. Doesn't listen to the symptoms of his patients and thinks that being fat is the root of all problems. People are aware that they are overweight so maybe take the differential past that one symptom.

Mustafa is a good doctor but his nurse practitioner is horrid. I have PVC and Was having heart palpitations and the first thing she thought I needed was a regime of anxiety medications and continued to say that after i explicitly told her I do not want to get on medications and became very rude after I went against what she was recommending like she knows everything although i simply wanted to do test to make sure everything was okay. When I went to the office I said I wanted to speak with my doctor who knows about my history yet I was booked with the practitioner (apparently he wasn't there) and paid a $70 co pay when I could have simply gone to my own doctor and paid a $5 copay, in the end only ekg was done and I was sent a letter that they would no longer see me after the practitioner "thought" I was cursing and yelling at her when I was simply trying to explain what was going on with me and she just would not listen, and kept talking about a REGIME of anxiety medications in which after I went against her recommendation a fifth time WITHOUT her doing any other test but an EKG she asked me to leave "her" office. Again a patient with PVC, heart arrhythmia and having palpitations and no immediate test were done other than EKG.

I believe the doctor is a well experienced doctor from what Ive heard but the administrative procedures need an overhaul. I had a appointment set for an exact date and it appears the recepcionist that assisted me did not place me on the schedule. I have the records of calling back the same day I received a voicemail to make the appointment. Its a bit disappointing to know that the appointment that I had scheduled for a month in advance was not properly documented. I understand we are all human but mistakes like these should not be made in the medical field.

I went in a for a consultation several months ago. I am overweight with a larger cuff and the nurse who took my blood pressure used my wrist. When Dr. Mustafa came out I asked why was my wrist used and if this would give an accurate reading. His very sarcastic sounding response was that since I'm overweight the blood pressure monitors they have can only fit my wrist. No Dr. Mustafa, you are quite wrong. I have had blood pressure monitors that fit my arm quite well, that I was able to purchase in regular stores, that I walked into without any medical certifications. If you and Bond Clinic by extension refuse to source and provide proper equipment to treat the patients you are in office to do, then don't use your mediocre ones and make excuses and try to embarrass people about their weight. This so-called doctor was in such a rush to get me out of his office, as I have found all practitioners in Bond Clinic tend to do. Shame on you and your incompetent and inefficient equipment!!!!!

If I could give a negative star, I would. My father has been experiencing issues with his heart. The nurse practitioner told him he would have to wait for a heart monitor until they had one available. I find it very concerning that he does not have enough equipment to supply to his patients, which makes them wait until they are available. He was then told that he should call them immediately if he had any episodes with irregular heartbeat, fainting spells, or dizziness. However, they never answer the phones or return calls, leaving us feeling frustrated and helpless. The only way is to drive to the office to speak to someone. If anyone in this area could provide another heart doctor who shows proper care to his patients and hires an office staff that cares for people in general, it would be greatly appreciated.
