If you are reading these reviews trying to evaluate whether to have Dr Helguera do your cardiac ablation, or Cleveland Clinic, please read this. Find someone else. Dr. Helguera emphasized that ablation for SVT had a very high success rate and very low risk, especially with modern machines. Instead, the procedure failed, I suffered a *preventable* stroke, and my heart is now in far *worse* condition than it was before- both quantitatively and qualitatively. The state of Florida is currently investigating this matter, but briefly: Critical safety steps, like timely ACT monitoring, were delayed or missing during the procedure. Key documentation, such as timestamps for high-risk steps, were also absent from the report. It is very clear to me, looking at the reports that he rushed this procedure and this is why it's currently being investigated by the state of Florida. Additionally, his follow-up care was extremely delayed and poor. He doesn't care. I would very strongly encourage somebody to look elsewhere for any serious procedure.

I recently had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Helguera and I could not have been more impressed. He was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain my options thoroughly and with great clarity. His calm, thoughtful approach gave me confidence and reassurance at a time when I needed it most. It's clear that Dr. Helguera is not only a highly skilled physician but also someone who truly cares about his patients. I had a very disappointing experience with this electrophysiologist. From the beginning, he showed a lack of professionalism, empathy, and respect -- both toward patients and colleagues. He did not even communicate that my husband's pre-surgical tests were abnormal, something that should have been addressed immediately. As a physician myself, I was shocked by his lack of attention to detail and the way he dismissed important aspects of care. A doctor should inspire confidence, listen carefully, and treat patients with dignity. Unfortunately, this was the opposite. It is deeply concerning that someone practicing in such a reputable clinic could demonstrate such poor standards of care. I would not recommend him to anyone seeking safe, respectful, and competent medical treatment.

The worse office I have ever had to deal with! I made an appointment for my mom about 1 month and half in advance - two weeks before the appt they leave a voicemail saying the appt time had changed and she was only seeing a nurse!!!! They left me a number to call back, the number is to an appt center that don't even have access to their office! No one ever cared to ask if she was available at a different time or if she was okay seeing a nurse!!! They don't even know what she is coming in for!!!!!!! I have worked with doctors and nurses for 4 years now and this is absolutely ridiculous!!! Shows how much they don't care about their patients! Appt is on Monday the 28th, will update the comment with notes about the office visit.

He literally saved my life! I was suffering with supraventricular tachycardia and he performed an ablation. I am back to a normal life now and so much happier.
