Terrible place for gastro services. Doctors seem to come and go. I liked Dr. Gitlin in the past but he left. Now there is a Dr. Harewood who seems overwhelmed. I seen him two months ago and came back and he acts like this is the first time he saw me. At least he could look at notes before he comes into the room. The worst part of this is trying to see a doctor. You will see a nurse practitioner who, months ago, was working in another department, not even gastro. They move them around as well, and obviously not as qualified as a doctor with decades of experience. Long appointment waits too. Best to look elsewhere out of the Cleveland Clinic medical staff.

I took my Dad here for an endoscopy and it was one of the most well-run establishments I have ever visited. He was taken on time, every member of the staff cheerful and kind, Dr. Eberhart was professional and wonderful. Cannot say enough good things about it.

I made close to 9 calls to schedule an appointment. 1st referral no longer takes patients, 2nd appointment they made with a Dr who had poor reviews & I canceled appointment & scheduled a 2nd colonoscopy. 2 weeks before I called to find out where and discovered my appointment was not on the books, no explaination why. So I made a third appointment only to have a nurse call and say I was not due until Nov even though my PCP referred me and my insurance company assured me timing was not an issue. So I called back twice with no results. 2nd representative didn't no why and I was told a nurse would call back the same day, no return call. Brings me to today with a call of over 30 minutes waiting for an answer. I have never been given a concrete answer why I need to wait until Nov contrary to all evidence otherwise. I canceled my appointment, this system is broken.

Cleveland Clinic Gastroenterology are incompetent and lack in the ability to give patient care. They canceled an appointment that I had to wait almost 7 weeks to get (September) and then called to reschedule the appointment in 8 more weeks (December). This appointment was made from a referral from my primary. The receptionist said it would be too much work to reschedule in a way that would accommodate my canceled appointment. This is what Vero gets when we get big hospitals to take over. It's not about patient care; It's about their bottom dollar.

I ended up in the ER because I was bleeding internally. The ER did a CT scan and blood work. They sent me home with antibiotics and told me I needed a colonoscopy. There is a problem with the colon. I already had an appointment with this office and when I met with the gastroenterologist, it really was not a very helpful conversation. Instead of talking about the bleeding issue because he did not review these records, he started asking me all these questions about my prescriptions. When I suggested to him that it might be helpful to call my previous G.I. , he said he didn't have time for that. Last week I started bleeding again. I sent a message to his office. Six days later his assistant called me and told me that Dr. Bird wanted me to use preparation H to stop the bleeding. He assumed I was bleeding from hemorrhoids. I told his assistant he needs to review my chart, preparation H will not stop the bleeding.
