Patient Reviews

Lifeline travels through Vero occasionally- I went January 2025. The scan showed a-fib and they told me it was imperative to see a heart doctor right away. We sought out the best cardiologist in town based on reviews. We thought it was DeoNarine - we were very wrong. It took two weeks for him to see me. He listened to my symptoms and put me on a take home heart monitor. The monitor was defective and we tried to get back in to see him. Instead I was told to wait for another monitor. We called every several days but you cannot speak to anyone. You have to leave a message and they say they will call you back within 48 hours. This was extremely stressful. THREE WEEKS later I was called to come get the second monitor. The assistant was piecing this one together in a cluttered side room and that is where she explained the instructions. After a few days this one also failed. I personally took it back to the office and they said they had enough results even though the monitor broke. I was surprised because nobody even noticed the monitor wasn't working as they were supposedly receiving the results online. For the next two months further testing and more appointments with DeoNarine ensued and he referred me to Dr. Gonzales to have a stint. Dr. Gonzales and his team were absolutely top notch. They were efficient and excellent. On May 2nd - The procedure showed that my widow maker artery was 98.6% blocked and his opinion was that had I not come in when I did, the result would have been catastrophic. Next he wanted me to get a Watchman- scheduled for June 2nd. Now we are going on 5 months. Then Dr. DeoNarine recommended an ablation. He said that should be done at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. The ablation was done in September and there were complications (but not DeoNarine's fault). During this procedure we became even more disgusted to find that the watchman and the ablation could have been done at the same time saving general anesthesia for the third time and many hours of driving to Mayo and the testing and appointments for both. Mayo told us they often did both at once but I was never given that option by DeoNarine. After returning to Vero, Mayo clinic requested that DeoNarine schedule an ultrasound on my groin area which bled out at Mayo. Unfortunately the girl who gave me the order for Hope Imaging did not fill it out correctly. Hope Imaging tried to contact the Dr's office with no luck. I went back to the office personally to get another form and the "new" form was also incorrect. Finally Hope (the staff there is outstanding and very caring) used one of their own Drs to ensure the request was correct because I had just gotten home from surgery and was extremely stressed, tired and unhappy with the whole seven months of delays, faulty equipment, incorrect orders and no way to communicate in a timely manner. I decided at that moment I would never return to DeoNarine again. He felt the same way because I received a letter a week later saying he was releasing me as a patient. Another unprofessional move in a series of mistakes.

Patient

As a patient of this practice for more than a decade, I was shocked when unable to be seen. I obtained records to provide to a new cardiologist. I read them. I am embarrassed that I took the Dr at his word that I had no changes, no concerns. Had he been more thorough or proactive in my "care" perhaps I would not be symptomatic now. His staff, particularly an office mgr and Dr assistant were wonderful. And then gone! I should have been more proactive myself.

Always compassionate and caring. A soft spoken wonderful doctor who is one of the very best. Love his nurse who has been with his office forever. She's the best. Great care comes naturally to them.

The receptionist greeted me and called me by name. She was prepared for my visit and held out some forms that needed to be completed. She explained them to me and thanked me for completing them. The nurse then showed me back to the examination room with no wait. She was familiar with me and with my health condition and asked the questions necessary for the doctor to review my condition with me. She took an EKG, which felt seamless, and then advised that the doctor would be in shortly. In a few minutes, the doctor entered and greeted me with a smile. He asked several questions and told me the results of the EKG. He asked if I had questions and suggested the timing of my next visit. He walked me to the scheduler's desk and said goodbye. The scheduler gave me a choice of return dates and times, scheduled my next visit, printed a reminder and gave it to me. She thanked me for my visit and then I left.
