Adventhealth is awesome. Everybody cares and makes you feel the truth most important person there. Dr Richard Morrison is unbelievable. He explained my surgery to me in great detail, even drawing several pictures to explain it. When I left I knew I could handle this major surgery. Thank you to all the Adventhealth personnel and especially Dr Richard Morrison.

He has the warmest smile that just brightens anyone's day! Great surgeon. I appreciate everything you've done for me. I hope I don't ever need another invasive surgery again. First and last. The recovery wasn't fun lol, but I'm glad it was Dr. Morrison who performed the procedure.

I just wish I had a earlier appointment for my surgery. I'm suffering so bad last night. I didn't sleep at all. Can't breathe two more weeks. I hope I can make it besides that the doctor and everything else were excellent in service.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Unfortunately, that's not an option. This "doctor" has completely shattered my trust in the healthcare system. My father had open-heart surgery by him, and due to what I believe was a deeply negligent and poorly managed process, he lost his life. Now I have to go on for the rest of my life without my best friend-- my father was only 56 years old, gone too soon.
The lack of compassion and urgency shown by both this doctor and the nursing staff at Advent Health Pepin Heart Institute was despicable. It was disappointing to witness such dismissive and careless attitudes in what should be a place of healing and support. From the inpatient side, getting a nurse to respond when called felt nearly impossible unless we left the room to search for someone ourselves. When they finally did show up, we were met with irritation or indifference rather than compassion and care. In ICU, they didn't even have a proper specialist on call to adequately help my father when things went south due to this "doctors" operation.
This experience has left me with lasting trauma and serious doubts about not only this specific doctor, but the entire facility. I would never recommend this provider or Advent Health Pepin Heart Institute to anyone. What we endured was not just medical failure--it was inhumane.
My advice: keep looking for other doctors. Although I am not a fan of surgeries due to this tragedy, I'm still certain that there are better doctors and facilities out there who genuinely care, who will take the time to ensure they're making the right decisions, and who understand the gravity of the responsibility they carry. My only hope is that no one else has to endure the pain I now carry every day.
