I saw Dr Fernandez several years ago for a myocardial bridge. He told me I needed to see a surgeon which my cardiologist had already told me. But he wanted Dr matar to do a cardiac catheter on me . Dr Matar did my cath and proceeded to tell me I had no myocardial bridge. I suffered with chronic chest pain for quite awhile due to Dr Matar misdiagnosis. I finally ended up finding a myocardial bridge specialist at Stanford who agreed to see me. After many test and a repeat cardiac catheter, I was told my bridge was so bad I needed to see a surgeon asap. I went in 5 days later for surgery. They literally saved my life. If it were not for Stanford doctors in surgeons I probably wouldn't be here today. I really like Dr Fernandez but his partner leaves a lot to be desired. I gave Dr Fernandez four stars because I don't blame him for my misdiagnosis. But Dr Matar it was no excuse for him missing My diagnosis.

Dr Fernandez and the whole TGH cardiology team are first class. Office visits are always well organized and on time. Tons of communication between departments. Dr Fernandez, his docs, nurses, and office team all care about you as a patient and person. Just great office all around.

Finding a good doctor for me is one of the most difficult things in life. Not everyone is willing to spend a descent amount of time to listen and treat you with respect and kindness. I went to see Dr. Fernandez for a heart condition I have. He was recommended to me by two of my friends and am super happy I went to see him. He is really professional, kind, empathetic person. After explaining the problems I've had for the last 7 years, he ordered some testing to follow up on my condition. I'm very happy with his care.

Dr Joel Fernandez is such an amazing dr. I have a heart condition that derived from other problems and issues. This man cares about people and his patients. Finally I have positive progression thanks to him and the staff that work with him. I am overwhelmed with gratitude and appreciation for him because it is so hard to find good Drs, it also hard finding Drs that listen and take the patients seriously and actually care.

Dr. Fernandez is very caring and attentive to my husband. He is professional in a very comfortable way and takes the time to answer every question that we have. I am grateful that we were referred to him. I would highly recommend him to anyone!
