Dr. Bengt Herweg, MD is an exceptional doctor who has saved my life multiple times. Cardiology is his true passion, and he excels at it. Dr. Herweg is dedicated and relentless -- he will not stop until his patient is stabilized and able to live a healthy, productive life. He always uses the latest, high-end technology to provide the best care possible. I honestly don't understand how anyone could give such a remarkable cardiologist a bad review.

I initially met this doctor for a consult in the CCU after learning that my seizures were causing my heart to stop. Dr. Herweg presented a neurocardioablation that he wanted to do over the Pacemaker because of my age. Initially, I trusted this man's decision but that has proven to be one of the most regretted decisions I've ever made! Without releasing to much of my own PHI online, I urge you to find a doctor that will actually listen to hear and not listen to bill. My last appointment he was so adamant that he's "cured me," then proceeded to discuss writing a medical article about my medical complex history and the surgery he did. (Which didn't even work, so not much to write about there....) I just scoffed at the man. I have no praise to give him. I did in the beginning but definitely would never trust him with another day of my life. Just find another doctor. He will let his ego take over the moment your surgery is complete. You are no longer of interest to him if a cut isn't being made. I should have never trusted this man with my care (not that I had an option anyways) A 1- hour surgery turned into a 6 hour surgery and me not waking from anesthesia for hours after. My husband never being updated until the 4th hour of surgery.... Then them "loosing me after the procedure and unable to bring my husband to bedside while I was recovering. The fact that you even wrote in your study that there were no changes associated with the lesion sets you made in numerous areas of my heart (not just the one you told us about before surgery) then go on to tell me you've "cured me." He's egotistical, he's condescending, he does not listen to understand and treat-- just bill. Oh, and if you're a "medically complex" patient like me he won't work with your other doctors without you constantly having to hound his staff about it.

Dr. Herweg and his team are the BEST EVER! He is the smartest and most knowledgeable Doctor that I have ever been to. He listened to my issues and symptoms and worked VERY VERY hard to give me the best quality of life I could possibly have. I'm extremely happy to no longer need a wheelchair because of my extensive and complicated heart issues. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone I know. I will forever be thankful I was blessed to have such a incredible man to be my Doctor.

Dr Herwig is the best Cardiologist I've come across. They call him the "Electrician" as he's the best around for all matters of electrical impulses for the heart. He took care of my father and my brother. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He truly cares about his patients.

Dr Herweg is an amazing Dr and surgeon and I do owe him a great deal of gratitude for the life and well being of my girlfriend, yet I do have a real concern with the team he is associated. The quality, record and rating of his work throughout his years of practice fail to translate to patients and their families due to his office policies and administrative staff. I have witnessed (listened) the worst customer service from his office and his staff, and being in the customer service industry, it is simply infuriating. This happened before, during and following two heart procedures that were performed to my girlfriend within 4 days at Tampa General. For an administrator to say to my girlfriend that "she cannot talk to him, because of your insurance" on a post operative pacemaker procedure, performed in Tampa General, following an already scheduled zoom meeting where she waited for 40 minutes, is unheard off. And only after she strongly objected to their administrator she had her post op meeting? I do believe that such actions and practices should be reported and shared with everyone in hope that no one has such experience no matter what the issue is. For shame...
