I was diagnosed with an arryhmia in 2018 and was told nothing serious. I found a Cardiologist on line affiliated with St Anthony's. So I came here early September. I was concerned about a definite surge in heart palpitations and shortness of breath. My primary care Dr was seen in July for same complaint and didn't take my concern seriously.Nor did either one of us AT THAT TIME recognize my body was in distress and a peptic ulcer was brewing from mega dosages of prescription IBUPROFEN my primary put me on starting mid June ( for pain management) With an arryhmia he shouldn't have put me on that med and that high dosage in the first place ( 800 mg 3x's a day) The Dr I saw here was dismissive, not interested in any clues and descriptions I was offering so we could figure it out. Rushed me through a 10 minute visit and was even backing out the door as I'm still talking and asking questions. I was so angry I asked at the discharge desk to not see him again for any followup.2 weeks later I'm in an ambulance en route to St Anthony's ER definitely in distress. Soon after I started bleeding out twice in a row in the bathroom. I'm promptly put in another ambulance and taken to Morton Plant Hospital. I spent 6 terrifying days in the ICU. Two back to back surgeries to stop the bleeding. I continued downhill and was intubated and on a ventilator for 2 -3 days. Obviously I'm recovered but angry at how I was treated. When I got a copy of the cardiologist notes from my Sept visit, the # of errors was jaw dropping. I then was given a Holter Monitor for 2 weeks , that malfunctioned twice. One didn't power up at all, and the spare one I had to use left bright purple blister burns that have taken 3 weeks to heal. Good grief ! Diagnosis same as 2018. No surprise.I would never come back here and certainly not recommend the Dr I saw.

Dr Jacob is very knowledgeable. She listened to me carefully and ordered tests. It is very difficult to reach to front staff for appointments as no one picks the phone. Amy in MCOT department is amazing. We need more people like her. Joseph in Echo room was awesome. Very kind and helpful.

Dr. Sharma is great, but the office staff makes it too hard to be a patient here. They never pick up the phone, or return messages. It took weeks to get anyone on the phone to book an appointment, and I've had the same issue when trying to cancel or reschedule one. 3 days, 3 messages later and still no return call and zero luck getting anyone to answer the phone. Sad for the doctors who really are great, but it's almost impossible to make an appt with any of them because of the office staff.

For the third year in a row, my annual visit with Dr. Ramos is canceled because he will not be in the office. Afterwards they offer you to see the PA instead. If I want to see the doctor, I would have to wait close to three months for an appointment that I had scheduled a year ago, I have the highest respect for Dr. Ramos, but BayCare staffing and procedures are really lacking. I think I would do my health better if I find another cardiologist with better office practices.
