Michelle was extremely helpful in getting my blood pressure stabilized. I have a knee in which I am going to have total knee replacement surgery. I twisted this knee and the pain was extremely painful for a bit. After the icing it, it felt better but my blood pressure raised considerably. I notified Dr. Rivera's practice and Michelle told me to triple my dose of blood pressure medicine. She saw me the next day.. The day before I saw my primary physician and he gave me medicine for the pain. We had also discussed an anti-inflammatory medication. I brought this information to Michelle when I saw her. She told me that the antiinflammatory raised blood pressure and only use the lowest dose. I also asked her about the painkiller and how it lowers the blood pressure. We discussed it was ok to take the blood pressure medicine in the morning and it is as ok to take the pain medicine at bedtime as it was prescribed. I also discussed the surgery and the use of the antiinflammatory medication. I decided only to use the antiinflammatory medication for surgery. She told Dr Rivera about my use and dosage for surgery. She gave me the parameters in how to take the blood pressure medicine using the actual number of the systolic when I took my blood pressure. She was great in answering all the questions I came in with. I felt reassured and safe with the knowledge she gave me. It took a few days to get the pressure back to a good level and Michelle had her assistant return my phone with information when I had another question regarding my pressure. She is knowledgeable, reliable, and a good caregiver.
