Patient
A Heartfelt Thank You to an Outstanding Cardiology No Problem: As an anesthesiologist with decades of experience in critical care across the globe, I rarely find myself truly surprised in the medical world -- but today was different. While taking my mother to a cardiology appointment, I ran into an old friend -- a nurse practitioner I've long respected outside the clinic but never had the chance to see in action. Today, I did. And I was blown away. Before I could even share the detailed plan I had carefully prepared (with a little help from ChatGPT, no less!), he dove in. He immediately assessed my mother's complex medication regimen, cleaned it up with precision and clarity, and -- more importantly -- explained every move with care, patience, and insight. He didn't just go the extra mile -- he lived there. I've worked shoulder to shoulder with physicians all over the world. We rarely call each other "Doctor" -- we know the work speaks louder than the title. But today, I found myself wanting to call him "Doctor" out of deep respect -- not because of credentials, but because of how masterfully, compassionately, and intelligently he handled my mother's care. This wasn't about friendship. If I were a stranger, I have no doubt he would have done the exact same thing. He was simply being who he is: a true clinician, a dedicated caregiver, and someone I would trust with my own life -- and more importantly, my mother's. I can't recommend him highly enough. Thank you, my friend. You reminded me what exceptional care really looks like. Robert Steele, MD
