Ricardo Martinez, MD

My husband had a pacemaker put in by Dr. Martinez it was later replaced due to broken lead (wire) He was put on some kind of monitor for the pacemaker. Recently he has been experiencing some "fluttering" of the device - more prominent when laying on side. He has called Dr. Martinez's office 3 TIMES regarding this issue and NO ONE has returned his calls...thinking of reporting complaint to Medical Board. VERY VERY UNHAPPY.

Dr. Martinez's office is the only doctors appointment that I always look forward to going. Today I was at the Punta Gorda office. Stacy at the front desk is always so nice and cheerful (with the added bonus today of checking me out too). I've always had a good experience with the tech who does my vitals when I go in the exam room and today was no exception. Yelana (sp?) whom I've never seen there before was wonderful. Just like Jess, another great, I felt like she knew me and cared. She was so respectful and nice to this old man. Her and Stacy alone would have me coming back. But Dr. Martinez, who I've been telling him, for many years, is without a doubt the best Cardiologist I've ever seen and I've had many back in St. Louis where we moved from, and they were great doctors so him being considered the best means something to me. He goes above and behind in his help and mostly advice. With his help and guidance in the last three years have gone from 230 lbs to 178 (and have stayed there for almost two of those years). I find myself doing things he's told me as much for him as me. Thank you and please, don't ever change.

Dr Martinez is a treasure. He is genuinely concerned and involved in his patients' care. We could not be more grateful for the kind and loving care we receive. Definitely blessed to have Dr Martinez on our side throughout the past years!

Dr. Ricardo Martinez is an excellent Cardiologist! My husband and I both go to him. He's taking care of my Mother and several family members. I would also refer him to any other friends and family who might need him. He's has always been Kind , Courteous Professional and has treated us like family. And his office staff has always been on top of everything that we need and very professional . Five Stars doesn't do justice ! I would rate him as a 10 star Doctor Thank you Dr. Martinez for what you have done For my whole family and I.

On 3 May I went to the ER with chest, jaw and arm pain. After 30 hours in the hospital for observation and tests, it was determined that I did not have a heart attack. I was subsequently referred to a cardiologist, and was lucky to get an appointment with Dr. Ricardo Martinez. Dr. Martinez scheduled me for a CTA scan which showed blockage in my heart and I was scheduled for a stent procedure on 3 June. When Dr. Martinez attempted to place the stents he was unable to due to the significant blockage of my arteries. The blockage was so significant that he immediately contacted Dr. Luis Dibos to see if he was available to perform double bypass surgery as soon as possible, and it was done the next morning at Bay Front Health in Port Charlotte. If it had not been for the quick and accurate diagnosis of my situation by Dr. Martinez, and subsequent by pass surgery by Dr. Dubos, I would not be here today...I was a walking time bomb! Dr. Martinez checked on me (and my wife) several times over the next couple of days. He is an excellent cardiologist--caring while also being "to the point", which I really appreciate. My wife and I both believe we could not have received better care.
