I just came home today from a 2 day stay via the ER for a cholecystectomy. Came in at 2am via the ER and was seen and brought back within 5 minutes. Everyone was kind and helpful. Did lab work up and ER doc spoke with general surgery on staff and was moved to observation within 2 hours. Was told surgery might not be for a day or 2. Thankfully that changed and I was brought to Preop at 12pm for a 1PM surgery. Was brought back into the OR right after 1PM. After surgery and PACU, I got back to my room and was brought dinner. Through out my stay I had 1 dinner meal and 1 breakfast. Both were great meals! I was kept comfortable via pain meds and my nurses checking up on me throughout the night. This morning discharge was very quick and easy! I was out by 12PM.
I will say, this was one of my best experiences via Health First hospitals. I do live in Cocoa, so the only reason for my visit was due to my surgeon being on call there that night. But, if I am ever in need of emergency services and am in the area or outpatient surgery, I would 100% recommend your facility.
My nurses were amazing as well. Thank you to Kimberly V, Aponte, Devon F and Rutchama.
I believe my nurses name in PreOp was Collina? She was so kind, gentle and sweet!
And thank you to Dr. Hammoud! Since I first visited him in his office, I knew I made the right choice. He has amazing bed side manner and very confident in his processes and procedures! Thank you again!

had to go to hospital via ambulance due to racing heart *felt like my heart was pounding out of my chest*, weakness, struggling to take breaths, nausea due to issues related to not having a thyroid. The way I was treated by Palm Bay hospital was appalling. My story was twisted...had to correct the story for them at least 7 times. They were supposed to give me fluids and instead left it hanging never to be touched, I was trying to tell the charge nurse about concerns I had and she belittled me and treated me rudely. I literally was crying not just because of how I was feeling health wise but because of how they were treating me. When trying to explain how I was feeling and how I felt about how I was being treated, the charge nurse and dr interrupted me mid sentence. Drs gave me meds for my thyroid issues and never came in to check to see how I was feeling before sending me home.
The charge nurse is supposed to help situations, not escalate them...not make the patients feel disregarded
Also when I first got there, at least 6 people were in the room including paramedics...a nurse threw a gown at me and told me to take my hoodie, shirt, and bra off to put the gown on in front of everyone. I told them I did not feel comfortable getting undressed in front of them.
No one should be treated like this by medical professionals.

Recent visit to Palm Bay Hospital ER. It was very busy. Staff was amazing. Everyone was professional. They kept me updated about the wait, which was not too long.
Dr Lenoci was very thorough and kind. From registration to check out- they were great!

I came in at 4:30. I accidentally shot a staple in my hand with a staple gun. I was taking into a quiet room and sat there for three hours waiting on the doctor to get in touch with another doctor to basically get permission to remove the Staple. My husband had to go and find the doctor and ask him what was going on. The doctor told my husband that he could not get in touch with the bone doctor on call and he didn't know what to do. My husband had to force him to take the staple out of my hand, even then it was a lot of unprofessionalism. I've never heard of a on-call doctor not answering the phone or returning a phone call after two hours. This was the worst hospital I've ever been at and I would not recommend anyone go there.
The whole hospital seemed like it was run by a bunch of children that needed their mom's permission to do their job!!! If you are in Palm Bay, if you can make it, I suggest you go to health first on Wickham Road the best and fastest hospital. I've been to in a very long time.

I recently had shoulder surgery there and was very happy with the staff and hospital. Everything was clean, the nurses very attentive and made me comfortable for my first surgery. I will use them again. Hopefully not to soon.
