Harry Diaz Mendez, MD

I'm new to the area and have some minor ongoing health management issues that I need a reliable and educated health team to maintain. I have tried out a few different facilities for my basic doc appointments and was growing concerned that I wouldn't find someone like my former GP from back home. (Whom I trusted) I need a doctor with knowledge and a capable team/resources. I was so relieved when I had my first appointment with Dr. Diaz at Omni. I'm so glad to have found a provider that takes my insurance and seems to genuinely care about my health. Anyone would be lucky to be a patient here. FIVE STARS:)

The receptionist and Ashley the nurse that saw us first were very nice and helpful. On the other hand Dr Diaz,Mendez was very rude and treated my 94 year old mother Virginia Callier and myself(her son) like we were idiots because the initial check in paperwork was not completed correctly. He would not even talk to my Mom to see how she was doing or feeling. All he did was complain about the paperwork and he said that he was not a secretary and when we could figure out how to do the paperwork he would see us then and to re- schedule. This was my Moms first visit with this office since she moved here and I take care of her now full time and we had a lot of questions to ask but he did not give us the time of day. This Dr really needs to work on his Dr to patient communication and hospitality skills .I hope and pray that we have a better experience on our next visit.

Long time waiting, I arrived 15 minutes early. Was called back 20 minutes after my appointment time., then another 15 minutes waiting for my doctor. We have things to do and places to go, we shouldn't have to wait! I am sure thing's don't always go as scheduled but just inform us about delays. The 2 young people checking need customer service skills and how to be more professional especially the guy.

Can't speak about the doctor but the office staff already left a bad taste in my mouth. I was asked to move my afternoon appointment to the morning as the doctor would no longer be available during my original appointment time. I did so willingly. Problem was, the staff member cancelled my appointment with out putting me in for the new morning time slot. Obviously I had no way of knowing this so I wasted my time, gas, and money on a babysitter to be told that I couldn't see the doctor that day unless I came in at my original appointment time. Not sure why I had to change in the first place if he was suddenly available to see me then. I ended up needing to reschedule completely. The lady helping me apologized but it sure would have been nice to get a simple "sorry" from the guy who made the mistake who was sitting five feet away and only said "I don't know how I didn't put her in" before going back to ignoring the situation. Mistakes happen, but now I'll make sure I call to confirm with them before I ever waste my time like that again.

Dr. Harry Diaz-Mendez is about the best physician I've been to in almost 9 years living in Florida. He asked all pertinent questions and listened patiently about my concerns. Provided excellent advice. I'm comfortable having him as my primary care physician.
