Kamran Akram, MD, joined the Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute in 2012. He is board certified in internal medicine, nuclear medicine, echocardiography and cardiovascular computed tomography. Dr. Akram received his medical degree from University of Hamburg, Germany School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Medical College of Georgia/Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta. Following his residency, he completed a fellowship in nuclear medicine at Harvard University, and a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

This was my initial consultation with this facility and doctor. The staff was very friendly and I was taken back to a room within 10 minutes of my appointment. The medical assistant was very sweet and thorough. Dr. Akram was very personable, listened to what I was feeling and then ordered future tests to evaluate what might be causing my symptoms. Dr. Akram has a nice personality and a calming demeanor.
This physician is definitely very educated, but he lacks a bedside manner. He almost makes you feel like he doesn't have time to listen to what you have to say.And maybe he doesn't. But with that said he is a very excellent cardiologist, and I would recommend him.
