This is about the family practice in this building not the More UF Health Cardiology You have to give this program a star to post. otherwise I wouldn't give it one start. My pharmacist and I have tried at least twice each to get a prescription renewed that was written by Dr Price at the Ocala UFHealth center. I called the 355-1282 and told the person who answered what I needed. She says hold on a moment. I think she is transferring me to someone who can help. Next thing I know I am on a voice mail system. I left the message and got no call back. Did that twice to no avail. My pharmacist tried in vain t help and he got nowhere either. We were pleased, very much so with Carmen who was the receptionist and the only one there when we first walked in several months ago looking for a family doctor. She explained that UF was starting a Family Practice there and it was just getting off the ground. We made an appointment and in time we saw Dr Price. He explained that he had been retired from a practice in Jacksonville, moved to Ocala and then had his arm twisted a little to help UF get the family practice started. He said he agreed to work 8 to 5 Tues, Wed and Thurs and that the deal was he was not to be bothered after hours or on his days off. Wonderful for him not so good for the patients. The first time it was an ordeal getting prescription and it took several tries and call and once Tiara answered the phone we made progress. Now several months later the same or worse difficulties. I don't know who is in charge over there but who ever it is please know it sure has failed us. Tiara was a thoughtful tech but it was obvious she wasn't get what she needed from the doctor or who ever else needed to be involved. The Lab guy was not the worse but he lacked much in skill and demeanor. Carmen was terrific. thoughtful, help with paperwork. Welcoming. Just a great representative To bad what she is representing isn't worth her efforts. For those wanting to know I sure couldn't recommend the place. We were very pleased when we used the Gainesville facilities but this Ocala deal is sad beyond imagination. We are getting a new doctor and moving on.
