NCH Rooney Heart Institute: Robert D. Pascotto, MD

I had cancer surgery July 19, 2024. I've Suffered in severe, crippling, pain from damaged intercostal nerves for almost a year since then. I Never saw Dr. Pascotto again for any follow up after my wedge resection but I did see Dr D'Orazio who stated "i don't understand why you're in so much pain". Seriously? Finally pain management from Moffitt cancer center helped to ease the pain with a nerve ablation. Something it appears i will have to have frequently for life. Worse yet, I have to have the lung surgery again less than a year later. 2 add'l pet scans later (which continue to light up) shows a possible piece of NSCLC was missed bc a wide enough margin may not have been taken. Fortunately I've been able to get an amazing surgeon at Moffitt who knows what they're doing as lung cancer is all he does. I should not have to have this surgery less than a year later but at least this time I know I'll be cancer free.

On August 29, 2023, Dr Robert Pascotto saved my life! I've had no previous heart ailments in my 81 years but on Aug 26, 2023 I was admitted to the ER at NCH in North Naples. I had tightness in the middle of my chest and was vomiting. The care I received from this point on was efficient, effective and professional. I was scheduled for Cardiac Catheterization two days later which Dr Flynn performed. It was determined that I had 4 blocked arteries and Dr. Pascotto would perform the surgery the following morning. In ICU after surgery, Dr Pascotto informed my wife and I that I needed 5 arterial grafts. Dr Dorazio took care of me throughout my hospital stay and was likewise top notch in his attention and approach. I'm lucky to have been in this group's care. They listened, explained everything well and attended to my needs. There are no words to express my gratitude to all these doctors. They've given me more years to enjoy life! Thank you all for the care you've given me!

Dr. Pascotto did emergency open heart surgery on my husband. Although surgery did not end until well into the night, he called me the following morning to update me personally. He and the entire staff at NCH cardiovascular recovery unit were amazing. They were great at comforting families but more importantly, I knew he was in good hands. It is no where one wants to be, but months later I still remember most of his nurses by name.

Dr Pascotto performed open heart surgery on me in December 2021. My surgery was a success and I have this marvelous surgeon to thank. It takes a brilliant mind to do what he does daily...but it takes a brilliant heart to care about those patients far beyond the surgery. I'm not sure "thank you" quite covers it but there it is from my heart.

Dr Pascotto JR was on call the night my wife at 60 years old needed open heart surgery . We were shocked to say the least, she is a health nut, works out all the time. Found out she needed triple bypass surgery immediately .. nurses told me how lucky we were to have him on call. I did some research while I was waiting for her to be prepped for the surgery and was at ease once I read about all his successes and all his accolades. Stop me from climbing the walls for sure. I can tell you the surgery was a huge success, found out her condition was hereditary. The surgery was on December 2021, my wife has recovered beautifully and we are working out and she is ready for golf.. Thank you Dr Pascotto, not only did you save my wife, you saved "my"life!! Here's to 30 more years!!
