Patient Reviews

I really didn't want to write a negative review because I wanted to like Dr. Paz. My first visit in 2024 was great, but every appointment afterward was subpar. At my second visit in 2025 she even said "nice to meet you," and each visit felt like I was re-explaining my entire medical and personal history from scratch. It never felt like a continuation of care. My last appointment was the final straw. I requested to have my fiance present during a pap smear, this caused commotion; I overheard Dr. Paz and her staff discussing it outside the room. When she came in, she reintroduced herself to my fiance--who she has met because he is also her patient--and then made him leave. Whether it's policy or not, it felt dismissive and unprofessional. I also had repeated billing issues from incorrect lab CPT codes. When I brought the allowed codes from my insurance, Dr. Paz became irritated and didn't review them, and I kept receiving statements for a lab that should have been covered. I had to call billing myself to get it resolved. After three visits, I consistently left feeling overlooked and dismissed, so I'm switching providers.

Today my mother told me about her latest experience at Dr. Paz's office. Nurse Practitioner Moon is no longer there. Mom didn't actually see the doctor. The new practitioner refused to authorize my eighty-three year old mother to get the latest vaccines. I can only guess that politics or religion skewed her away from the scientific fact that vaccines have saved millions of lives. Luckily, Mom's pharmacist gave her the shots anyway. He said "It's your body. It's your choice." Damn straight. We won't be going back to Paz.

As a healthcare provider myself, I hold my colleagues to a reasonable standard of professionalism and patient-centered care. Unfortunately, my experiences with this office and physician have been consistently disappointing. The physician never seems to remember who my fiancee or I are, despite multiple visits, and asks the same questions every time (e.g., what I do for work), which suggests little continuity of care or genuine patient engagement. On one occasion, my fiancee--who chose to see this PCP for convenience rather than her regular OB/GYN--requested my presence during her exam for comfort. This is neither unusual nor inappropriate. While waiting, we overheard the physician and assistant discussing my presence in a dismissive tone. When the physician entered the room, I was asked to leave without any explanation. This disregard for patient comfort and autonomy is unacceptable and falls short of standard practice. In addition, the handling of insurance issues has been unprofessional and dismissive. On a prior visit, we proactively provided the appropriate covered EPT codes to both the physician and front desk staff to avoid uncovered charges. The physician laughed, made rude remarks, and tossed the documentation aside, saying "insurance is insurance." To make matters worse, after leaving the appointment, the front desk staff brought the paperwork out to us in the parking lot--an unprofessional way of brushing aside patient concerns. Despite our efforts, we still received a bill for uncovered services that should never have been billed in the first place. This combination of poor communication, lack of professionalism, disregard for patient comfort, and failure to take insurance concerns seriously reflects an alarming lack of care by both the provider and front office staff. Patients deserve to feel respected, heard, and properly cared for--none of which has been demonstrated here. I would strongly advise others to seek care elsewhere if they expect professionalism, empathy, and accountability from their provider
