They took the time to explain every step of the process, comforted our family during moments of uncertainty, and treated my grandmother with the utmost care and respect. Thanks to their exceptional skills and teamwork, the surgery was a success, and my mother is now on the path to recovery. Their kindness and encouragement made a difficult time much easier for our family. We will always be grateful for their unwavering support, expertise, and the hope they gave us. Dr. Tom Nguyen is an outstanding cardiac surgeon and an incredibly warm and approachable person. We were fortunate to be referred to him after my brother had a failed mitral valve repair at another Miami hospital. Dr. Nguyen instilled confidence from the moment we met him. He was clear about the fact that my brother needed a replacement valve and a sternotomy. His explanations were clear, honest and informative. At no time did he talk at us but rather listened and answered all our questions. He never rushed us. That was refreshing from a highly skilled surgeon! We are now three and a half weeks post surgery, and I can happily report that my brother's time in surgery was hours less than the previous minimally invasive surgery. His time in ICU was half the time as the prior surgery. Moreover, his overall recovery has been terrific. Needless to say, our experience with Dr. Nguyen and his team has been amazing. I highly recommend Nguyen...you will be in excellent hands.

I recently had a Mitral Valve repair surgery that needed to be corrected so I reached out to Dr Nguyen and his team at Baptist Health. From the time of the first email sent to Dr Nguyen explaining my heart issues to my last visit ; 2 week follow up after my valve replacement, Dr Nguyen and his team was exceptional in every way. I was a bit nervous of having to have another heart surgery so close to the previous repair by another local surgeon but Dr Nguyen made feel at ease and expressed the utmost professionalism in making me feel comfortable that all would be fine. I would wholeheartedly recommend him if you are looking for a surgeon to perform a mitral valve repair or replacement. It has been just two weeks since my valve was replaced and I am surprised at how quickly I am recuperating.

My husband needed open heart surgery. The moment we met Dr. Nguyen, we finally felt some comfort. His knowledge, confidence, experience, bedside manner & great reputation were exactly what we hoped for. We truly can say he is a life saver. He takes pride & special care in his profession. The gratitude that I have for Dr Nguyen and his entire team can not be appropriately expressed. From the initial introduction meeting and discussion to the follow up care the treatment that I experienced was above and beyond my expectations. When I was feeling overwhelmed by everything that goes along with facing full open heart surgery, Dr Nguyen and his team were a calming presence. On the morning of July 17, 2025 I entered the pre-op area with the full confidence that I was where I was supposed to be. My surgery included the full replacement of the Mitral Valve, and a bypass of both the LAD (Widow Maker) and the Circumflex arteries. The care that the Entire Team provided from the ICU nurses to the person who helped gather my prescriptions and wheel me to the car for my trip home provided an "Exceptional Experience". I will be forever grateful for Dr. Nguyen and his Entire Team.
