2nd Floor Surgical Ward Review
The 2nd floor surgical ward is truly something special. From the moment I arrived, I was met with compassion, warmth, and a level of care that went far beyond my expectations. Every single person treated me like family, not just a patient.
Audrey, the charge nurse, is the kindest soul and the heart of the unit. She genuinely wants every patient to receive the very best care possible. She is patient, gentle, and will not rest until answers are found. Knowing Audrey was overseeing the floor gave me complete peace of mind. She advocates fiercely and leads with both skill and heart.
Mercedes Kelly, my pre-op nurse, deserves her own paragraph. I wanted to adopt her and take her home with me. She was calming, compassionate, and incredibly attentive. What meant the most was that she came upstairs multiple times after surgery just to check on me, even when she didn't have to. That level of care is rare and unforgettable.
Simone (ARNP) was knowledgeable, reassuring, and made sure I always felt heard and safe.
Ali from Dr. Jusino's team was attentive, professional, and consistently supportive.
Jenny Perez, the nurse lead, runs an exceptional team. You can feel her leadership reflected in the organization, teamwork, and compassion of the entire unit. Rachel Sigalove, the absolute best CRT, made a stressful experience so much easier with her expertise and kindness.
My day shift nurses, Renee and Nick Lord, were wonderful, kind, attentive, and always focused on my comfort and care. Jamie Hamilton and Raven Black, my night nurses, were phenomenal, gentle, responsive, and deeply compassionate during the hardest hours of recovery.
Every person I encountered went above and beyond to ensure I felt safe, respected, and cared for. I will forever be grateful to the 2nd floor surgical ward for the compassion, advocacy, and humanity they showed me during a very difficult time.

My wife gave birth at Palms West. Overall, it was a positive experience aside from a couple aspects I will touch on. Our doctor and MOST of the nurses were fantastic! On the flip side, the AC system was malfunctioning one night, and it was 62 degrees the entire night! The nurses this particular night couldn't care less about this or really about doing their job in general. Brutal way to welcome your newborn into the world. The temperature on a post-partum floor was completely unacceptable. Our baby was freezing, as were we. Just a miserable night. Hate to have that overshadow an otherwise very pleasant experience with top notch staff. I just find it amazing you can have such a disparity in level of care from different nurses/patience care techs in the same hospital, but there certainly is.

I just delivered my baby here yesterday. Every nurse on the labor and delivery unit was wonderful. They all treated me amazing and were so incredibly kind. But nurse Michelle is someone my husband and I will never forget. I had a c section and my pain was unbearable. I was shaking and screaming in pain. And Michelle went above and beyond to care for me and make me feel as comfortable as I could possibly be. She spoke words of encouragement the entire time, she motivated me, and she truly helped me feel better in one of the most painful experiences of my life. She was an absolute angel and I thank God for placing such a caring nurse in my path when I needed one the most. She also took incredible care of my baby girl. She treated every visitor of mine with so much kindness and respect. She went above and beyond and I can't express enough the difference she made in my life. The world needs more nurses like her. I'm so grateful for her and the whole nursing team on labor and delivery. Thank you so much.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience under the circumstances. Each staff member made me feel as if I were a VIP--meeting my every need. I was treated with respect & dignity from the moment I entered check in, through discharge. The nursing team communicated with me, my physician and amongst themselves--they have a well organized team assembled. Delany was superior in every way. I was fortunate enough to be in a private room on the surgical floor that was kept spotless by housekeeping. The cafeteria workers made sure I was given choices & prompt deliveries. I wouldn't hesitate to choose this hospital for any of my family members who may need medical care.

I have been twice now, our one year old twice, and my father too (who has multiple illnesses) and this hospital has been incredible. Not one person was not nice and all extremely competent. I could go on and on but it would be redundant. I cannot say enough good. I highly recommend going should the need arise (hopefully not though).
Oh, and their food is really great too!
