Central Florida Veterinary Cardiology

My dog Minute was referred to CFVC by her primary vet after being diagnosed with a heart murmur. She was supposed to be seen on 11/14/25 but due to her severe anxiety, I had to reschedule the appt at the last moment. I spoke with Sebastian, one of the vet techs, and he was super helpful in recommending what combo of meds would work best to make sure Minute was sufficiently calm for the rescheduled appt. He was also able to schedule a new appt for her much sooner than I expected. Much appreciated! Minute was seen by Dr. Bolfer and another vet tech, Megan, on 11/17/25. It was an hour long drive to Winter Haven but well worth it as Megan and Dr. Bolfer were both awesome. Due to Minute's severe anxiety, I ended up having to pretty much sedate her to bring her in but even medicated, she still started getting a little stressed when we went into the exam room. Megan immediately turned the lights off and spoke in a quiet tone which helped put both me and Minute more at ease. The testing resulted in some bad news which Dr. Bolfer delivered as gently and sympathetically as he could. And both he and Megan were very considerate throughout the rest of the appointment. I did have a follow-up question a few days later regarding Minute's medication but when I tried calling to speak to Megan (as she had suggested), she wasn't available so I was transferred to another tech. That tech told me she would check with Dr. Bolfer and call me back but I never received that return call. So my interaction prior to as well as the initial appt were both great but subsequent follow up was disappointing. Would still recommend CFVC for their comprehensive cardiac services. Dr. Bolfer is extremely knowledgeable and if you happen to get Megan as your vet tech, you'll be in great hands.

My vet recommended I come here due to my pup having heart disease. I arrived to a location at the bottom of an apartment building. Inside the office is very clean, I was greeted and offered snacks and refreshments while I waited. Kali, who works alongside Dr. Bolfer, is someone I will always remember. Something about her demeanor and the way she cared for my Coolie made me feel safe regardless of feeling more scared as the visit went on. She told me she had a lot of experience and it shows. Thank you so much Kalia! Dr. Bolfer came in to do tests and speak with me, and he explained everything so that I could understand. The prices are pretty steep (but may be similar to other veterinary cardiologists--I'm unsure) and it was a roller coaster of emotions that day, especially because my pup left looking and sounding worse than he was when we arrived. They told me to visit the ER, to which I did (oh, my pockets..), but he's doing well now and that's all that matters.

I want to thank you Dr. Bolfer and his staff -specially Kaila- for their compassion and professionalism with the treatment of my 12 years old Rowdy. I'm extremely happy with the results of the treatment so far.

Took my large breed dog here after she collapsed in our back yard and stopped breathing. This team is awesome. My dog is a big baby and barks at the slightest thing in fear. They took the time to get to know her and gain her trust before just jumping into the exam. I am so glad I found this office because she is going to get the best care here! I never expected to be taking my dog to a cardiologist, but this place really cares! Their medication prices are less than chewy as well! BONUS!!

I can't say enough great things about Dr.Bolfer and his team. He was able to diagnose 3 of my pets with diff issues when other Dr.s weren't able to. And my 14 year old shihtzu has CHF and has been under his care for almost 3 years doing better than ever. He diagnosed my 12 year old shihtzu with a collapsing trachea when 2 other Dr.s told me she was too small to be able to see her throat clearly. He also just helped me with my 7 month old puppies abdominal ultrasound after I was faced with a very long appt wait time with the office my vet referred me to. I was very stressed out with her being so young but as soon as he read the abdominal scan ,I immediately felt at ease and didn't doubt his report. I never have any doubt of his capabilities and he has a way of making you feel like it's not the end of the world that your pet has a harsh terminal illness. That's all you can hope for in a situation like this, a great Dr and someone to help you through this. I feel very blessed to have my pets under his care!!
