I find it interesting that Dr. Calderon has to recruit fellow soccer players to write positive reviews for him that don't even sound as if they are actual patients of his. His real patients will not find him compassionate or kind. Instead he gets offended if you ask for explanations about his diagnoses and asks if you are are a board-certified cardiologist if you aren't willing to accept his prescriptions without a discussion of medication side effects. I tried to work with Dr. Calderon for 6 months, but ultimately lost trust in him and switched doctors. He seems to be more interested in running a business than a practice and will find ways to bring you back for recurrent follow-ups. I believe he inflated my blood pressure readings when he took them even though they were normal when his nurse took my reading five minutes earlier. After this happened more than once, I discovered through reading other reviews that other patients had experienced the same thing. Could it have been white coat syndrome? Maybe, but I've never had that happen with any other doctor and my new cardiologist also did not find my blood pressure to be anywhere near what Dr. Calderon recorded. I hope other patients who have experienced this will also comment to warn prospective patients if he is in fact doing this regularly. Also, be careful as the office will try to collect a higher co-pay than you are obligated to pay by your insurance. Know your co-pay before you go in.

I wanted to express how grateful I am for Dr. Calderon's compassion, kindness and continued follow ups on my health. I play in an extremely competitive coed soccer club with the doctor. His personals health is an inspiration. Extremely Fit and active player multiple times per week. I say this to say he is a prime example of what a healthy prime example of heart health! I have the privilege of being part of his recreation community. His expertise in medicine and kindness have been a gift to us. I've suffered from Crohn's disease of the small intestine for years. I had a drastic flare in 2022 and just achieved remission through exercise as a major part of the recovery plan. Dr Calderon is a blessing! He checks in on each of us each week at our games.volunteering his valuable time to our players spanning ages 30- 80 years. Several of them are clients of his. This is a testament to the trust and professionalism, valuable expertise and successful results. If I ever had cardiology recommendations, he was there for me and to make an appointment. The 3y flare caused impacts to all Organs simultaneously. He is a joy to be around with a fun and compassionate demeanor. Very respectful! It is a privilege to know this expert! I will absolutely utilize him as a cardiologist!

I was referred to Dr. Calderon as I now live full time in Florida and felt it was time to have a local cardiologist. Dr. Calderon's lack of professionalism was immediately apparent. He seemed disinterested and rushed, barely acknowledging my presence as he hastily skimmed through my medical records. His bedside manner was cold and detached, making me feel more like a burden than a patient seeking care. He spent less than five minutes with me as a new patient. Furthermore, I was dismayed by Dr. Calderon's apparent incompetence. He informed me that I had a second heart attack based on glancing at my EKG done in his office. When I informed him that I had not, he stated that I had. This was so distressing to me, I immediately called my long standing Cardiologist in Charleston, who reviewed the EKG and said that the leads were reversed. Calderon should have recognized this. He should have listened to me (I have been in healthcare for 30 years), but no, he disregarded what I told him. To make matters worse, Dr. Calderon then ordered FIVE tests, no explanation, just sent me to check out. His receptionist Beatrice is so busy scheduling tests that her line is long. When it was my turn to schedule, she made me SIX appointments for testing and follow-up. As four of the tests were ultrasounds I suggested she schedule them together as opposed to separately. She informed me that insurance will not pay if the tests aren't scheduled separately. I called my insurance company and they said this was in fact untrue. BCBS advised to have the tests scheduled together to avoid separate visit copays. I went back to the office the following day to inform Beatrice of the insurance company's recommendation, and she told me "that is how we do it here." I asked her if it was so that they could charge my insurance and me for separate visits, and she would not answer me. This is so unethical and a clear money grab. Overall, my experience with Dr. Calderon was deeply disappointing. His lack of professionalism, incompetence, and poor communication skills fell far short of the standard of care I expect from a medical professional. I would strongly advise anyone considering seeking treatment from Dr. Calderon to explore alternative options.

Took care of my friend who needed open heart surgery. Referral to Dr. Sell, who did the procedure, was exactly the next step in the journey. Be proactive and live longer. Thank you Dr Calderon and your attentive staff!

I went to this cardiologist in October 2020 for a stress test. When it was done he told me that all was great, see you in 5 years. Well fast forward to today. Im having knee replacement and had to get clearance from my cardiologist in NY. (We had more than enough of Florida). I had this doctors records for me sent to my new cardiologist. My cardiologist took one look at the report which said I had an abnormal stress test! Nothing was EVER said to me! I had to have an emergency stress test here in NY. Guess what. The stress test came back 100% fine. Another example of poor medical care in Florida! This doctor comes across as very suave, but do yourself a favor and get to another cardiologist!
