The office staff is friendly and helpful. I got to my appt early and was taken in before my appt time. Dr. Ali was thorough, answered all my questions and has a great bedside manner. I completely trust him with my cardiac care.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ali, a cardiovascular physician, since 2022. Years before I came to Saint Augustine (2021) I had a loop monitor inserted in my chest to keep track of ongoing a-fib (this was in conjunction with an a-fib ablation with TEE [2018]). After arriving in FL the battery in the monitor finally failed and, during one of my early visits with Dr. Ali, he suggested that I have it removed. I consented--it was the first surgery that he performed on me. Some time later he also inserted a vascular stent in my lower left leg to minimize the effects of peripheral artery disease. More recently (in 2024) we spoke at length about a-fib. Although my original loop monitor did not detect any occurrence of a-fib while the batter was still charged, Dr. Ali did emphasize that I would likely have a-fib for the duration of my life and, as a result, the likelihood of passing a blood clot from the right atrial appendage (RAA) of my heart would be increasing as time elapsed. If the clot entered the brain, significant damage could ensue. We then spoke about yet another surgery, viz., insertion of a Watchman device (a membrane that is surgically implanted in the heart to prevent a clot from leaving the RAA). After the conversation, Dr. Ali gave me a stack of literature to evaluate, which I did. After reading the material I was convinced that I would undergo the surgical procedure by Dr. Ali to insert the Watchman. That was in 2024 and I have neither subjectively detected an episode of a-fib nor has one been evident on any EKG. Finally, and of some importance, at least to me, no clot has been detected in any blood vessel.
