Shands Cardiology should be ashamed. Nov. 14 my 82 yr old mother had a standard ECG done. Before she was even home, she received a call from her Cardio main doctor saying they needed to discuss the results of the tests and he would call back. Nov. 17th, my mom sent him a message stating she has not heard back. Nov 27th my mom sent another message stating no one has called her regarding the tests results. She told me about this on Dec. 2nd, I researched the medical report that was sent to us and according to what I found, Torrential regurgitation of the tricuspid means surgery. We shared the tests with family, who are doctors and they said based on what the test report said surgery was needed. I called on Dec. 2nd was told someone would get back with us in 24-48 hours. I called on Dec. 5th, as no one had reached out, and was had an appointment set for Dec. 8th. Dec 8th was told by the nurse practitioner that based on what she was reading surgery was not needed but she would get in touch with the doctor that read the report and my mom's main doctor and have an answer to us by Friday 12th. On Friday 12th we received a "notes" from the appointment that occurred on Dec 8th with no mention of test results or conferring with doctors. The NP specifically said she would call back. Dec. 15th I called and asked to be put in touch with the highest person in the Springhill location office, was told an email was being sent to management with and elevated status and I would hear from someone within two hours. That was at 8 am this morning, it is now 1:45 pm and no one has responded to my request for a simple reading of test results that appear to require surgery, were important enough for the doctor to call the same day the test was done. Do better Shands!! Next step, I am not sure. I left a message at patience experience, supposedly that is the next step on the ladder but I don't have any faith in them at this point. Going to seek out a second opinion from Cardio Vascular Institute. Maybe they care about their patients.
