Patient
Dr. Dillon may be an excellent cardiologist, but the service of his staff leaves something to be desired. I came to him for cardiac clearance prior to a hip replacement surgery scheduled for tomorrow, April 7. He ordered EKG, echo-cardiogram, and chemical stress test and they had the results of those tests on March 23rd. I was assured the results would be sent to my orthopedic and GP doctors. When I saw the orthopedic doctor on March 25 he did not have those test results from Dr. Dillon. He sent me to preregistration at the hospital anyway. Today, the day before surgery the orthopedic doctor still does not have the test results or cardiac clearance from Dr. Dillon's office. I saw his PA on April 3 and she gave me the results of the tests and assured me those results would be passed on to both my orthopedic doctor and the GP. Just how hard is it to fax something from one doctor's office to another, especially when time is important?? If this hip surgery is delayed because of their inefficiency, I'm going to be very upset with someone!
