St Luke Heart Institute: Mathews Thomas MD

This 5 star review is for Belinda. While Dr Mathews also saw me during a stay at TGH and I will say he did try to help me, I know I have a complex case with a lot of different things going on and I do believe he did the best he could within his scope to try to find me answers. Which he did help with a few things! However Belinda deserves so much credit for my recent visit with cardiology at TGH. She truly sought to support and empower me through what I'm going through with my health, and that kind of care is priceless. She is a true asset to our community and her kindness and compassion deserves more then 5 stars.

Just talked to front desk Crystal..great great customer care she did what she could for me..what a sweet professional..she Answered the phone.thank u very much Crystal!!!.unlike billing tried and tried to talk to billing on my bill...ha voice mail..ridiculas..billing gets no star terrible.***** ***I have received my call back from billing. Thank u Heather for fixing my problem with my bill. I appreciate your call back

I have called every week since Hurricane beryl, and only get the answering service. Leave a message and never get a call back. This doctor may be good, but his staff sucks. How hard is it to get an appointment to see your cardiologist. Obviously impossible with this office. Horrible, just Horrible to deal with.

Dr Matthew's saw my aunt at Tampa General in Brooksville on July 19th and gave her a pacemaker. On August 1st she had a follow up appointment at his office. When we checked in we were informed that he doesn't take her insurance at his office that we would need to find a cardiologist that does. 2 weeks later we realized she had staples I called his office again to find out if he could at least remove the staples again I was told NO. He doesn't take her insurance. I took her back to emergency and the doctors there called Dr. Matthews and he "was surprised that his office staff would say that because he would follow up on a patient he performed surgery on". So all this to say the staff either needs to be better informed or he wasn't being truthful either way I wouldn't recommend. The staff has no compassion for patients...
