After strong recommendations, I contacted Dr. Delgado about some minor surgery that I needed. When I called, he actually answered the phone and advised me that his practice is in transition and that he wasn't taking on patients, right now. That's not where the story ends, however. Dr. Delgado then offered to make some recommendations for surgeons for me to contact. He asked me about my condition and advised me on the best approach for the surgery. Based on that conversation, he then recommended a few surgeons that he thought would be the best for me. Unfortunately, the surgeons he recommended were not "in network" on my insurance plan. After that exchange, he then asked me to tell him some of the surgeons that were "in network" on my plan so that he could make further recommendations. Dr. Delgado is clearly a surgeon that cares about people and wants to help. He went way above and beyond to help me, even though it did not benefit him, personally. Although, I did not become a patient, based on Dr. Delgados' approach to his practice, I would highly recommend seeking him out when he begins taking on new patients again.
