I want to share my experience with the front desk staff at Dr. Mateo office. As a patient, especially one dealing with difficult and traumatic health concerns, kindness and patience are essential. Unfortunately, when I asked about alternative appointment times, the response I received felt dismissive, impatient, and unnecessarily curt. (Speaking to the front desk staff that replied "Excuse me" when i confronting her rudeness). Patients are not trying to challenge staff, we simply cannot see what is on your computer screen and are just seeking clarification. What made the experience worse was that when I raised this concern with the supervisor, I did not feel heard or supported. The response I received was simply "ok," which left me feeling dismissed once again. On a positive note, I would like to recognize Dr. Alice, She was consistently professional, kind, and patient, and her approach has been the only truly positive interaction I remember from this office. My hope is that the staff will take these concerns seriously. A little more patience, compassion, and attentiveness when interacting with patients could make a significant difference--and in some cases, may even save a life. Thank you for the service, but on that note I will be transferring care elsewhere. Blessing to you all!

I have nothing bad to say about the medical staff, but the behavior of their billing department is totally unacceptable. They overcharged me and my wife co-pays of $50 each, while our insurance cards state that our copay is $10. When the insurance claim was processed, and it clearly stated that our responsibility is $10 each, we called them back to rectify the issue and request for a refund. We were confronted by contradicting statements, saying that the copay is $10 then $50 and then again $10 leading to nowhere. The next day I called the health insurance, and together we called the billing department of the practice. We talked to some June Connor. The health insurance person clearly explained to them that our responsibility is $10 and not $50 and that they should refund the overcharged difference. June continued insisting that they are not going to refund anything. At that point, I told her that under these circumstances, I had no other option other than filing a complaint with the appropriate regulatory body, and she started screaming and cursing at me and saying that I can't do anything to them. This is a very unpleasant experience and although as I mentioned earlier, I have nothing bad to say about the medical staff, this behavior from their billing department and this specific person, and their attitude and reluctance to rectify a billing mistake on their end, makes me not wanting to visit their practice ever again, and I would like to warn others of this.

Today I went to visit Dr Ann Thomas. I was told I could not see her because a previous MSPB doctor had discharged me. The reason I was discharged is because he cost me $1000 out of pocket. He was a new doctor and I was a new patient and he thought he knew me better than I do, I have leukemia and he insisted an oral medication would take care of my infection. I told him it would not. I needed a shot of Rocephin he disagreed. I went to my oncologist and the two doctors sent me to a clinic to get Rocephin IV which cost me $1000 , if Dr. Peter Schwartz had listened to me and the illnesses that I know I have and how to treat them I would not have had to go to the clinic for infusion. I sent him a note saying he owed me $1000 because of the extra cost and he did not do his job , therefore he discharged me and now I can no longer see any doctor from MSPB he is the one that should be discharged from the medical practice. Now I can no longer see a doctor from MSPB which makes me wonder what happened to the Hippocratic oath. How can a medical profession bar a person from receiving healthcare well, this company has done it, so beware most sincerely Dianne Ard

I was beyond frustrated with my experience with this office trying to obtain a form that my father needed, so nursing homes can evaluate him for admission. This request was sent to their office over 2 weeks ago. I was told last week updated the Nurse Practitioner saw my dad last, and she needs to complete it. I was advised this would be completed and returned to Brookdale West who has yet to receive it. I left a message for the Practice Manager who does not return calls. I first left messages for my dads medical assistant and was informed they are on leave they don't know who is checking the messages that were left on voice mail. I am fairly polite, direct when I call they know I am frustrated. I feel like I am now being flagged. I just tried to reach someone at the front desk was put on hold twice, ignored and then the call was disconnected. We were referred to Dr. Manchon who I have not met but have have heard many nice things about him that he really cares about his patients. I wish I was local so I can just walk in but I am near Atlanta. It is not ok to treat people this way! If it was your father who needed this because he was relocating to a nursing home in Punta Gorda near Ft. Myer, how would you feel? I hope anyone who reads this post chooses another practice because if this is happening to me I know I am not alone. Whoever owns this practice I hope you read this review have the office Manager come to your corporate office and terminate them. I would clean house and make it crystal clear that you treat our patients and their families with respect. It disgusts me. Jeff Tatz

No words to describe the despicable behavior presented by the office staff and the office manager. Red flag from the first moment I called. I thought I would give them a second chance, as I was referred to Dr. Kramer, but in all my years of experience with medical facilities and staff, I have never encountered such hostility and unprofessionalism. I will be writing a letter to the referring doctor to make him aware of the situation and advise that he refrain from subjecting anyone else to this level of hostility and rudeness.I received a call from the office manager for Dr. Kramer and was yelled, at, talked over, berated, and lied to. I am a caregiver for an alzheimer;s patient and suffer from a chronic illness. Inexplicable how anyone would think that they can get away with this kind of behavior, especially toward ill patients. One would think the doctor and/or management does not take care to vet their employees. I would suggest that you call your office and see how your potential patients are being mistreated.
