HCA Florida Mercy Hospital Emergency Room

My fiance and I welcomed a new member in our family this past Thursday at Mercy Hospital, we are extremely happy with all the attention, care, service, and love we received. The knowledge and experience all the staff carry is very impressive. They made us feel secured and confident all the time and today we are going home with our new healthy and beautiful baby. Thank you so much to the whole entire Mercy Hospital crew especially to the Dr Youssef Mouhayar, you all really make the difference, you guys impacted positively our lives forever

My mother was admitted to the ER the Saturday before Halloween. The ER staff as a whole were very accommodating and supportive given her age and condition. Where my challenges were with the attention to detail given the relative level of activity in the ER. It was determined after several hours that she would need the be admitted to the hospital for observation. An additional 90 minutes passed before we could fine the nurse to confirm he made the necessary calls to get my mother moved upstairs...he had not made those calls so another hour passed and it was not until 2am was she moved to her room upstairs in the hospital. It's this lack of consideration and the fact that the waiting was filthy (trash and bugs) that results in a 2-star review. And in my opinion these are issues easily addressed and I hope HCA does.

I am unsure of what was the lady's role at the front desk the day I walked in to the ER. I walked in said "good morning " she was having a conversation with an older man who later transported me to my room. This greeter/triage nurse did not acknowledge me at all, I stared at her the whole time and no eye contact, no good morning back. She was more interested on whatever she was doing between her computer and the conversation she was having then having simple bedside manners ,2 minutes after I walked she asked for my ID and the usual questions they ask. I wasn't dying or in severe pain . But imagine someone who actually is . She needs better training to represent the entire HCA family , Mercy hospital has been my #1 to go to ER for over 20 years , I even delivered my 4 kids here and had never have anything negative to say until this last visit .

My mother was admitted due to a hip fracture and was fortunate to have one of the best nurses, Ivan Rodriguez, assigned to her the first night. He was very caring and attentive to her needs. He also took the time to explain everything to her and concerned family members at her side. Very positive experience despite the unpleasant situation!

I had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Johnson during my ER visit on Wednesday, July 30th, 2025. From the moment he walked in, his calm and compassionate bedside manner immediately put me at ease. He was thorough, attentive, and clearly very knowledgeable. I truly felt I was in good hands and reassured that he was doing everything possible to ensure I received the best care. His professionalism and empathy made a stressful situation much more manageable. I am so grateful to you, Dr. Johnson!
