He completed his residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and his fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital of St. Louis Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. I saw Dr. Alicea yesterday for a follow-up appt, this was my second appointment with him. He is extremely knowledgeable, informative, kind, and personable. He explains things simply that make sense to me and doesn't try and rush things. He also has a good sense of humor, which I LOVE. I would highly recommend Dr Alicea !!
I saw Dr Alicea today. The entire staff was great. Everyone was pleasant and efficient. Dr Alicea took his time with me and I didn't feel rushed. This is my first time seeing a cardiologist and I couldn't be more pleased with the care that I received. I have seen several reviews that were less flattering and downright derogatory. I can tell you from my own experience that my visit was above and beyond what I expected.
Dr, alicea always does a thorough job, asks if I have questions or concerns. Nurses and office staff are very good. Very busy office and runs like clockwork. No long waiting times, or appointments being rescheduled. None of the problems I see in other offices.
Dr. Alicea explains my health issues in a friendly and easy to understand manner. He spends sufficient time with me. Never feel rushed. Most of all, I trust him.
Poor patient care. This doctor's ego prevents him from listening to his patients. My mother was his patient while at Naticoke Memorial. She has several severe health concerns and currently needs to have an ablation, but due to her other medical conditions she can not have this procedure at Naticoke. Her defibrillator shocked her, which is what sent her to Naticoke to start with. This "doctor" doesn't feel that her being shocked by her implanted defibrillator is a medical emergency so he will need have her transported to a facility that can treat her. My recommendation is not to use this man for your cardiac care. He's cruel if he things that being shocked, directly to the heart, is only "uncomfortable" and doesn't warrant immediate treatment. My family and I are looking into suing this man for malpractice. STEER CLEAR if you value your health!
