I had my first visit yesterday. The office staff were pleasant and I was in to see the doctor quickly. I met with two staff first to gather information and I also had an EKG. Both were pleasant and efficient. I then met with a nurse practitioner and she gathered more of my medical history. I found her to be very professional and knowledgeable. Finally, Dr. Ashish came in. He was wonderful, very clear when explaining my situation, used visual aids and was open to questions. I would definitely feel comfortable recommending Dr. Ashish, It was a good experience.

Dr Parikh is without a doubt the finest doctor that I have ever had. Some of the Wilmingto office staff are borderline incompetent. Testing gets lost, calls are not always returned in a reasonable amount of time, some of the staff are unprofessional. The last time I was in the Wilmington office the woman at the front desk was on a personal phone call the entire time she was supposed to be helping me. Nevertheless . . . 1. Dr Parikh asks questions and listens to my answers. He takes the time to explain in detail my condition including using images of my heart to illustrate what is going on so that I can understand. 2. He is high energy, engaging and upbeat. 3. The guy knows his stuff. I've read other reviews that indicate that he is rude. I've not seen that myself however I have worked with people from India quite a bit and their manner can sometimes come across in our American culture as aloof or rude. I have not seen him behave with anything other than enthusiasm and confidence. These are two traits that I want in a cardiologist.

He seem busy and distant most times, does not listen or care about my feelings when I tell him I do not feel well enough to return to work a few months after open heart surgery. He outright refused to give me letter stating that I need more time to recuperate after such a major surgery. I am totally disappointed.
