In 2010, Dr. Hammond performed a quintuple by-pass with a bovine aorta valve replacement. The 6 hour procedure was very successful. I was up walking the day, given 2 units of blood, raring to go. Prior to scheduling my open heart aortic valve replacement surgery, several friends - who are also healthcare professionals at Hartford Healthcare - let me know that Dr Hammond is the "real deal". They were so right! From the first moment I met Dr Hammond and his incredibly talented team, I felt seen, heard and cared for! He exudes confidence and knowledge and so does his team -- they are collectively why I felt so comfortable and confident going into surgery. Not that I would want to do it all over again but if I had to I would call Dr Hammond in a heartbeat (pun intended). Needless to say, I highly recommend him and his team!
