Patient
So my understanding was visitors would not be allowed "to stand, sit, or wait outside the patient's room at any time" in the Labor and Delivery unit, and also the number of guests was to be limited to 2 at a time. This was not what I experienced: I don't know who was working the L & D desk the morning of June 8th 2025, but apparently they didn't get that memo. I was not even asked before they allowed 5 guests through, and thank the good Lord my whole family stopped outside my room *before* entering, because it was right at that exact moment when my baby was being born (my 8 year old and everyone else would have seen EVERYTHING! ). it seemed like there was either a lapse in communication or maybe the person at that desk didnt care about how many people they were letting in? However, from when my husband and i arrived at 4am-ish with my water broken, the staff who were there were calm, collected, and professional. I had a wonderful nurse with me during my whole labor (shout out to Nanette );she was honest, experienced, gentle, and knowledgeable with an excellent bedside manner. I am very grateful to the financial/billing people for being so so helpful in the aftermath of having my baby with all the bills and the troubles those presented. The food service staff were always very very kind when I called down to them, and the housekeeping staff worked hard to keep our room clean. My husband wasn't very comfy on the couch/bed, so I'd suggest to future dads to bring a pad or something to lay on. I also happen to know there is some very very amazing respiratory therapists here.
