Patient
Dr. Washington was called to perform an emergency echo on my son who had a severe heart murmur at one day old. He took the baby to the nursery and sometime later returned to say all looked good. He then left. My son stopped breathing later that night, suffocated and was placed on life support. Tests revealed he had HLHS. Dr. Washington admitted he lied about performing the echo that was ordered by the pediatrician. He told us the echo was normal when he never performed it and clears us to leave. By the time they figured out the diagnosis- my son had lost most organs due to lack of oxygen. They encouraged us to let him go. We did. He died. Now we learn that may have not been the case. Over many years I've tried to talk to Dr. Washington who has refused my calls. We have lived a life of trauma because of his negligence. He never once apologized or offered any kind of sympathy or remorse for his lying to us so he could leave the hospital and go to a Ball that night. Our lives were ruined.
