Patient
I was recommended to Dr. Jothee by my grandparents and he seemed rather flippant during our consultation, but I thought that might be due to ND or something of the sort. He did perform my colonoscopy and endoscopy, but found nothing of note. After I was admitted to the hospital a couple weeks for a GI bleed and passing blood clots while Dr. Jothee was on vacation and when I called for the pill capsule study, he thought he was only calling to tell me my colonoscopy & endoscopy results. He became extremely defensive and continued to talk over me as I tried to explain the reason for my hospitalization. He ended up getting so frustrated that he just passed the phone to his nurse to handle the rest of the conversation (and she's FANTASTIC, for the record). That's when I knew my first instinct was right-- Dr. Jothee is extremely dismissive of women and the flippancy I first encountered was, in fact, exemplary misogyny. I would recommend this doctor to men and not ever to a woman. I still have unresolved GI bleeding and Dr. Jothee denied to do my pill capsule study because "if he didn't find anything, he would not get paid". Sadly, he's still better than South Bay GI, but not by much... his saving grace is his nurse, Reina (not sure on the spelling, but she's great and has to act as a buffer when the doctor gets fed up with women... it's unfortunate all around)
