Dr. Braverman at PIH Whittier is an amazing doctor. I had never undergone surgery before, so I was extremely nervous, especially thinking about the pain and the anesthesia. I chose to get the gastric bypass to address ongoing medical issues, and it has truly changed my life for the better. I have PPO Blue Shield of CA, so I completed the required six months of classes (once a month) along with a psych clearance. The entire process was smooth, informative, and gave me the time and education I needed to fully prepare for this major life change. Prior to the surgery, blood work was done and is something you'll continue to do every three months for the first year, after that it's just once per year. Before surgery, I completed the two week pre op diet, and after surgery, I followed the two week liquid phase. While both stages were challenging, staying committed was mostly mental. Once you decide you want to improve your health and extend your life, you find the strength to stay disciplined. For the surgery itself, I stayed in the hospital for two days and continued my recovery at home. I experienced about two days of general weakness, and to help stabilize myself, I invested in IV hydration which isn't required but something I wanted to personally do and pay out of pocket for using a third party hydration company, which made a noticeable difference. Aside from that, I had no real pain, and I did not experience any of the typical gas related chest or shoulder discomfort. I was even prescribed pain medication for home, but I never needed to take it. My wounds healed quite quickly, so that was non issue, and I was cleared to excercise within a month of recovery. If you are looking for a highly skilled and reliable surgeon, with over 5,000 successful surgeries, no leaks, no deaths, and an amazing track record, I strongly recommend meeting with Dr. Braverman to discuss your medical situation and options. From there, you can make the best decision for yourself. I cannot recommend Dr. Braverman and his entire staff enough. Everyone in the office is truly a blessing. Richard, the PA, is amazing as well.

Best decision ever! Dr Braverman is very compassionate about his patients- strict because he cares.. after my surgery I didn't feel any pain- I walked like I was supposed to- when I was released from hospital I didn't even need to take the RX he gave me for pain. I'm 3 months post- op and I can say this was the best decision ever- his office staff are professional and caring as well. His nurse Jennifer is very helpful and always makes me feel at ease. Dr Braverman was highly recommended by my gastroenterologist- and my cardiologist also highly recommended him.

This was my first time visiting Dr Braverman office and what I experienced I'd rather enjoy it the staff members and the nurses were nice Dr braverman I met him he was nice not just nice he was very informative about the procedures how they were performed! Where is personality Dr braverman is nice he cares about his patience he has nice bedside manner when you come into his office he makes you feel real comfortable because in the beginning I was nervous him and his nurses make me feel comfortable a real friendly atmosphere I like Dr bravery and his nurses and his staff they're really friendly and family-orientated and they made me feel really comfortable! And what I really liked about Dr Bremen bariatric practice because they didn't judge me, body shame me about my weight and I appreciate that! that's why I like Dr braverman and his nursing staff their top notch in my book I would recommend him to friends and family like I said he's very professional And nurses are not rude and disrespectful!

Dr. Braverman is caring and takes as much time with his patients as they need. He explains everything in a way you can understand him. His whole staff is very supportive. He's a very smart man. Thank you Dr. Braverman and thank you to your staff for helping me improve my quality of life.

I have been trying for 4 months to make contact with Dr. Braverman on scheduling my surgery to fix my candy cane syndrome and no response. I left messages via phone, patient portal, and email to get this surgery that he recommended that I needed asap since July of 2021 and no response. I called Cedars and they responded within 15 minutes and now I have my much needed surgery scheduled
