A hospital is not always a good experience but it can be if you have incredible people working there. Every single person from my check in to emergency via ambulance was kind and helpful. And calm! Nurses were awesome and took such care of me! Doctors super friendly and forthcoming with my diagnosis. The hospital was clean and sun filled in my area and mostly quiet which is not the usual. So I was extremely blessed. I didn't really want to go to the chaos of Dominican ER so I'm so glad I went to Watsonville Community Hospital!! 5 stars plus more.

At first blush, this hospital may not look ultra-new or modern. But don't be put off by the cosmetics. It's organized, friendly, and very personal. The hospital also confirmed my appointment with me a couple times and then called me to allow me to register in advance of my procedure. The staff is so kind! The nurses, too. I felt cared for and treated like an individual. Nothing bad to say about this place! I recommend it.

From start to finish the experience was excellent. Security guard was very helpful instructing us in where to go and explained each step of security. Check in at admissions was pleasant and friendly When I got to area for procedure nurse came out greeted us again and told us they were preparing my room and would be entering shortly. Very professional and friendly. Entire nursing staff was amazing professional reassuring and explained everything clearly and encouraged me to ask questions if and when I needed to I felt confident I was in good hands Dr Kline was wonderful reassuring reviewed procedure and what to expect. I felt so secure and confident I was in a safe place and in the most compassionate and competent hands. Before I left he came and checked in with me that I was doing well. Explained again what to expect and to reach out if I needed while at home. Dr Kline is amazing and Kaiser is fortunate to have him such a professional member of their organization. Thanks to one and all

( Edit: make it four: see below) This is specific to Diagnostic Imaging - I've been to the hospital for a procedure and didn't have any issues - however I've had three negative experiences with this dept. So I would recommend going to Dominican if you have a choice. 1a) To start with the sign in for diagnostic imaging requires going through outpatient registration, which isn't unusual, but the way they reacted when I came in and asked them a question (as well as over the phone) has been very stand-offish (I hadn't been to that hospital in decades and didn't know the procedure) - 1b) After I went through all the hoops and got my CT scan, they didn't fax it in to my doctor and instead i had to pick it up in person - it wasn't posted online and I was told I had to go to "records" which wasn't true, I just walked in the office and received a handout and a CD which I paid to mail to my doctor myself. 2) - The diagnosis from the technician was blatantly incorrect and my doctor simply pulled up the disc and showed me on the scan where the issue was. 3) I just called them again for a follow up and they hung up on me in the middle of the call, then when I immediately called back they put mr in the back of the line instead of with the person I was talking directly to. This is all to confirm that I still have to go to outpatient services in person with the order to register again. 4) went in again to schedule an appointment, the registration office said they knew of a cancellation so they called Radiology to verify and said they could get me in today, I asked when, they said "right now." So I agreed and did the paperwork and walked over. Spoke to the receptionist and asked upfront what the eta would be and she "right now"... And it's been 45 minutes of waiting and the lab says they can get me in in an hour now.. so I'm having to schedule an escort for another patient to see their doctor since I can't be there. Apparently the registration office can ask the lab what their availability is but the receptionist for their own office doesn't have visibility into the current situation. ...I say Dominican because I've visited that department with patients a few times and the folks over there are absolute pros and super sweet, despite always being backed up and crowded.

The hospital itself and its staff are amazingly polite and helpful. My issue was apptmt setting. I was told My apptmt was at 10:50 with special procedure at 11:50. I arrived at 10:10, checked in after waiting 20 min. Special procedures called me in and then told me my apptmt was at 10am, so my apptmt was missed. They did try calling to see where I was. Fortunately the doctor was able to do the procedure 1 1/2 hrs later. I'm not sure how to you would correct. I received a registration call the day before, paid the co-pay and verified apptmt time. It would be good to check into this. All in all people were great and procedure went well. Thank you
