Speak Up for Your Health: A Reminder for Every Visit When you walk into a doctor's office or emergency room, remember: you are not just a patient--you are a person with a voice, a story, and the right to be heard. * Know your conditions. Learn your diagnoses, your medications, and how they affect you. You don't need a medical degree to understand your own body. * It's okay to say NO. If a medication feels wrong or causes harm, you have the right to refuse it. Ask questions. Request alternatives. Your safety matters. * Be alert in rushed environments. Emergency departments can be chaotic. Nurses and doctors may be moving fast--but don't let that rush silence your concerns. Slow the moment down if you need to. * Advocate for yourself. Bring someone with you if possible. Take notes. Repeat your symptoms clearly. If something feels off, speak up. You are not being difficult--you are being wise. * File grievances if needed. If you're mistreated or dismissed, you can report it. Your experience matters, and your voice can protect others too. You are allowed to protect your peace, your body, and your dignity--even in the most clinical spaces. Advocacy is not rebellion--it's stewardship.

I want to give them a five star. They are good and the area is clean. The bathrooms could be cleaner but it is still clean. The doctors seem good and the nurse and front of house staff is kind. The wait though is what gets me. Plan ahead when you come in. You will be here 4+ hours at minimum and that's a nice number.... Just bring a phone charger or book or company. It's a good emergency care place though overall.

Terrible experience. Admitted my mom for massive kidney stones and she ended up needing a stent and procedure. Waited in the ER for over 17hrs before finally being admitted. DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR ACTUAL EMERGENCIES!

*update* don't let them fool you with their response. No one has contacted me after providing my info. Since no one ever reached out, I called and asked for someone to explain the itemized bill. I was told someone would call back. It's been 3 weeks and nothing......They truly don't care. *original post* I visited this hospital's emergency room recently for what turned out to be a minor issue. The entire visit lasted under 15 minutes, and I was given two Tylenol before being discharged. I was shocked to receive a bill for $1,800, which I feel is completely disproportionate to the level of care and time spent. I understand emergency services can be expensive, but this felt excessive--especially with minimal treatment and no imaging, labs, or follow-up instructions. Unfortunately, this experience reflects a larger issue with healthcare pricing and transparency. I'll be seeking care outside of the county in the future where I hope to receive better service and more reasonable rates.

The staff were complete superheroes, and in particular, the nursing staff were so humble and caring. Dr. Cano performed an emergency surgery and I cannot state my gratitude in words for his work. Dr. Cano was so amazing as a professional, yet his humanity was the element that made him stellar as a surgeon. I am eternally grateful for the commitment and energy these incredible humans give to their work and patients. Thank you!
