It is an unbelievable nightmare dealing with the office staff. Erika canceled my ultrasound without calling me and she lied about it that she left me a message. So I show up and they tell me lies. I spoke to Alyssa, who is supposedly the manager, and she condoned Erika's lies and said she left me a message when she did not and they could not present any proof whatsoever, but I could. I have no missed calls from them. No recent calls and no voicemail. They refuse to give me the Ultrasound order so that I can get the test somewhere else because it was going to be another month before they could do the ultrasound. Then I Call today to confirm my Follow up appointment for today With the doctor and they took it off the books. There's no way to let the doctor know what his office staff is doing Because they refuse to take a message for him. Don't waste your time if you are referred to this doctor. It will be too frustrating for you, and there are other options out there. All they had to do was admit their mistake But they insist on doubling down with the lies.

I had a great experience, both with Dr. Samarany and everyone working in his office. Not sure if theres been a change of staff but I did not experience the same things as the other (negative) reviews. Dr. Samarany was very friendly and made me feel I was being taken seriously

He's an excellent doctor. The staffs 6/10 no comments 2 or 3 are goods.

Staff will treat you like a burden. Doctor refuses to use technology, and the staff will lose your chart info. The office is bad at scheduling appointments, tests, or communication. They refuse telehealth for cardio patients that have trouble walking. I went four times and might as well have stayed home because he did nothing, just assigned tests that do not happen. Doctor will rush you and overall doesn't seem to give a lot of information. Dysautonomia patients, beware, and try to go somewhere else.
Edit a year later to add: my insurance called this office multiple times to get their auth department to send a cardio CT order from Dr. Samarany. It took an entire year and lots of handholding calls from insurance because their auth team did not know how to send an insurance packet with NOTES as part of their job.
Insurance approved it within a few days of receiving what they requested for a year. The office then sent the CT to the image center without the notes that said to look for valve function / motion again. I am still unsure if the CT was done correctly because the office staff say yes but the radiologist said no, and I cannot get ahold of this doctor by phone, email, fax, or MA message.
When the CT was done the MA team refused to contact the image center for the CT images so the doctor could review them. I took a week of learning medical systems and asked the image center to send them a disc directly to their address. The MAs refused to tell me if they received it from October- November 2025. I finally got a friend to pick it up from the image center and am hand delivering it to them, as a heart patient who has trouble walking.
Something is very wrong here. Please read the other long one star review so you know it's not "just me" - it's the MA and auth teams, which means it is the management who trains them failing patients.
The doctor can verbally help because he has medical knowledge, but any testing, which cardio patients often need - forget it. I had an angel of an insurance rep follow up with their MA and auth team tirelessly, and they still took a year to do a CT he ordered. From what I'm told it didn't look at valve motion so may have been a waste of time.
If you are new to dysautonomia and need a work up I'd recommend Dr. Peng at Cedars Sinai. He does stand-and-faint POTS, and post Covid POTS. He does not do OH but can give general info, and CS has catecholamine testing, which this office didn't tell me about. CS schedules full tests in advance of a one time appointment. After that you need a maintenance electrophysiology cardio. Perhaps he would be better for that, but definitely not for any tests you may need as a cardiac partient until he fires his office manager and trains his staff on auth paperwork, mail, and follow up call backs.

After seeing the cardiology team at UCR, and not being taken seriously, I found Dr Samarany. He has been kind, he does not rush me (even the one time he was running behind due to an emergency). He's knowledgeable, caring, and is willing to find answers for me.
