Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center of Thousand Oaks

Late Friday night we found our beloved golden retriever awake but unresponsive. We rushed him to VSEC and we were met by a very knowledgeable and compassionate team! They shared clear options and potential diagnoses, and steps moving forward. They didn't pressure us into any decisions; they gave us time and space to figure out what to do. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

I am so grateful to the staff at VSEC. As soon as we walked in the staff was able to gather information and begin helping Winnie. Winnie is a rescue and can be afraid of new people, unfamiliar sounds, and unfamiliar environments. The staff took extra care to decrease her anxiety in any way they could. When we picked Winnie up I could tell Winnie had gained confidence in the environment and some of the staff. I really appreciate that they went the extra mile to help Winnie not only get treated but to trust the staff a bit more. She is back home and back to her spunky happy self!

Staff was available on the weekend for an emergency quality of life assessment for our old pup, very kind and gentle in helping us and our sweet old guy who got to enjoy a chocolate chip cookie at the end. The vet and staff were lovely and warm in a hard time. Glad to have this location near us.

24 hours, actually open at 3:30 am. After two separate '24 hr' hospitals being closed in Ventura was grateful they answered my call. Super friendly "yes we're here, come right in". Our new adopted kitten had an abscess burst at 3:00 am, crying, scared, fever, needing help right way as huge amount of pus, was worried about kitten being septic. The three person team at this hospital was on it, quick evaluation, plan shared, bill paid up-front. Two hours later minor surgery done, antibiotics shot given, sun-q fluids, kitty loopy but happy, crisis averted! Thanks team on Friday Aug 15, 2025, great service, communication and care. You're our new vet!

This review is concerning Dr. Antonella Andrietti. They took radiographs that i did not approve and never told me the results of those. Also, they said my dog was coughing really badly so they needed to give him oxygen ect. I picked him up to bring him to my primary vet and he is NOT coughing at all! Plus, he was looked at by Dr. Pepper at vsec, and she said he was breathing comfortably and didn't need any oxygen and if he ate I could bring him home early. Once the morning crew came in, Dr. Andrietti took over and wanted me to spend a lot more money and lied about his coughing ect. I would appreciate management reaching out because I'm very upset that I was lied to and taken advantage of.
