She's a wonderful doctor! No nonsense & extremely intelligent! She does not mess around when it comes to health! She quite literally saved my husbands life!
Dr. Agarwal is smart and knowledgeable. If I was in immediate cardiac danger surely she would be someone you would want to assist you. However, If you wish to learn more about your choices, your body and glean wisdom from her, you will most likely feel nothing but condescention. I have had 4 appointments total with the doctor over the span of 1.5 years and definitely came in against adding more medicine to my body without understanding the need for it. It was going to take time for her to help me see the need and my options. She clearly doesn't like this type of patient! Early on the doctor was fairly rude and abrubt, but I was able to overlook it in light of wanting to hear from an expert and also, let's face it, many doctors have a superiority complex. Being an educated female myself, I try not to take this personal with medical professionals. This was more though. Way more. At my last, and final, appointment with Dr. Agarwal it was extremely clear that she was done with any quesitons I had. I even paused to communicate that I know she is an expert and value her opinion because she was so confrontational about a question I asked that I wanted to clear up that I was seriously not trying to offend her medical senses at all. Her bedside manner is abysmal and truly the only patients she likes are ones who worship her and follow her every word without asking questions. (See other reviews and you will find this trend quite obvious). Should you need a bit more time or have to work out somethings while dealing with your body, she will take that as an afront to her intelligence and become confrontational and rude without regard for any consequences of her words. She speaks in a demeaning tone naturally and any opportunity to explain my thinking was met with distain and dismissal. I truly have never felt so disrespected in a doctor's office and sadly feel this review is more than warranted though I waited more than a month to not react strictly in anger. Ironically, she had a wrist full of Taylor Swift bracelets so you may think she believes in strong women and female empowerment - you would be very wrong. We both knew that I would not be returning when I left her office and I am thankful for the opportunity to review her in hopes of my experience helping others avoid being treated like a child by an extremely well educated but not people focussed doctor.
I don't have much to compare to, as this is my first cardiologist experience but I am greatful to have found Dr. Agarwal. She is kind, wise, insightful, intuitive and I feel I can trust my care with her to make a plan. She takes in the patients concerns, listens to how we feel about medication etc, and the times I have needed in-between appointments I have been able to get them with a video visit. My only negative thing, is that it seems there is not a nurse at hand, so when I have had in-between questions or concerns it is not super easy to get answers right away.
They suck big time
