Joseph P. Turk, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement, complex revision surgery, trauma, and general orthopedics. He earned his undergraduate degree from UCLA and his master's in medical imaging sciences from Chicago Medical School, where he also received his medical degree. Dr. Turk completed his residency at the University of Pennsylvania and a fellowship in hip and knee reconstructive surgery at the Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic. He joined Ventura Orthopedics in 2005 and has contributed to multiple orthopedic journals. He also serves as assistant team physician for two Simi Valley high school football teams. Dr. Turk lives in Ventura County with his wife and two sons.

Office and staff very good. Dr Turk looked over my MRI and X-rays explained my injuries clearly and did an examination to evaluate my present condition. He was attentive and encouraging. He recommended my rehab treatment and I feel confident that I am now on the road to recovery. I will be returning for follow up.
I'm so glad I chose Dr. Turk for my hip replacement surgery. When you're facing something this big, you want a doctor who really cares - and that's exactly what you get with Dr. Turk. I was quite nervous about the whole thing, but his calm demeanor really put me at ease -- he even made me laugh a little. What I appreciated most was that he didn't just push surgery on me. We went through all my options together, and he was upfront about whether I was actually a good candidate. He talked me through the pros and cons honestly, which gave me confidence I was making the right choice. His staff is fantastic too. They're genuinely helpful and answered all my questions without making me feel rushed or pressured. That meant a lot during what was already a stressful time. Dr. Turk and his team made the entire experience as smooth as possible. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone dealing with hip problems. You're in good hands.
Went to another doctor and told me I needed knee surgery and when I saw Dr. Turk, he stated that I didn't need surgery that there were other steps to take before that. I was very pleased to hear that. He was very professional and personable and made my visit feeling good.
Dr. Turk did a fantastic job with my full right knee replacement (TKA) done in May 2025. Seven months post- surgery, I have a strong knee with good flexion without pain.
