Pueblo Medical Center: James A. Sharkoff, MD

Had to deal with communication through insurance agents because they wouldn't put whatever information which was needed for my referral even when it was the last day for my pending authorization. The next day, I called the insurance and verified if the office did respond and give the appropriate information and they said no because this office put in the wrong codes. Very frustrating situation and now I have to find some other way to get this referral because I cannot put my trust or faith into this medical office. They might be understaffed but I feel that does not justify what I have to go through. If possible call your insurance and switch offices you won't receive good care.

Dr. Sharkoff called a family member a homophobic slur. If you are under the LGBTQ+ flag, stay away.

Dr. Sharkoff is an excellent all around family doctor with best caring staff. He always takes the time to address all your aliments and concerns. I've been a patient of Pueblo medical for 10+ years

I recently changed to this Doctors office James Sharkoff is an amazing doctor his bedside manner is wonderful. His attitude is so down to earth and he makes you feel comfortable right away. The ladies are also the best I've experienced. I love the girl that takes my blood pressure(I forgot her name) but she's super sweet And attentive. If your looking for a great experience with outstanding medical care come here. You won't regret it.

Sharkoff constantly goes off on tangents about things completely unrelated to your treatment. He has a very strangely argumentative personality for a doctor, which wouldn't be so bad if, for example, he were convincing an antivaxxer about the efficacy of vaccines, or about really anything related to helping the patient in front of him. But instead it's a negative thing because in my visit, he started on some rant about politics while criticizing other medical systems when no one asked for his opinion on anything other than the current affliction for which I'm in his office in the first place. I seriously tuned out 90% of what he said for what felt like a full 5 minutes, yet he just kept carrying on by talking to essentially just himself and wasting my time, his time, and the time of every patient filling the waiting area. After slogging through that conversation, thankfully he did approve my referrals to the specialists that I need. I will likely be back to his office in hopes that it was just one of those occasional ranty mood days that people get now and then. Next time, if I feel that he can apply his medical knowledge effectively while focusing on the work, then I'll edit my review. Until then, it stays at 1 star because it was such an obnoxiously awkward, frankly unprofessional first impression of Sharkoff
