I unfortunately have a family with generations of heart disease and cardiac issues due to familial/genetic conditions which makes us all build cholesterol and attendant plaque issues, regardless of fitness and fine (healthy) food and health-perfect lifestyle. He has been my cardiologist over 20 years through multiple stenting procedures, heart and leg. Best stent doctor and diagnostic cardiologist in L.A.. up to date on every new procedure and cardiac care issues. Has amazing reassuring presence and, more importantly, intense concern. Could not possibly feel l could get better care anywhere from anyone.

I am writing this review in absolute shock. Jan 22, 2023 I had a Heart Attack and was taken to St Johns and Dr Brara was the Dr on duty and he stented my right artery and saved my life! Which no amount of stars could signify the gratitude I have for his work and keeping me alive! My path after was not easy and I had many pains in my body and chest that brought me back to the hospital on several occasions. One of my return visits, Dr Brara was in the hospital and came into the room to see me and after asking me questions in regard to what was going on , he then yelled at me and listed many additional sicknesses in my arteries that he never mentioned before (which since then, I have had tests run and those were his opinion and not fact) talk about adding to my massive anxiety. He then went on to say, don't get upset but I think you should seek emotional help with a therapist, REALLY DR BRARA!!! I have heard, Its very common for someone that has had a life threatening illness to get PTSD.. I appreciated what he was saying but how he was saying it and yelling at me uncalled for and unnecessary. Why is he mad?? My heart rate was rising. I still do not know, why he was so upset, I'm the one in the emergency room. For a long while, I would not see him due to the issues, and now that some time has passed. I've reconsidered and I'm all about forgiveness. He did save my life and I thought best to move on and go see him for a long overdue follow up and clear anything that happened prior. Well, much to my chagrin and why I'm leaving this review...I made an appt to see him, which is for tomorrow 1/25/24, however all day, I kept getting phone calls from his office, during my call back "Lucky" who works in his office said, I'm calling to let you know Dr. Brara said to find another Dr... WOW!!! I am not sure I need to say anything else other than this...It is unfortunate that I had a heart attack, and I'm fortunate that Dr Brara saved my life and I honestly cannot believe this message was relayed to me as if I'm not a human being that deserves care and seeing my original Dr and my intention of creating forgiveness and moving forward was thrown in the trash. I do not think this is the point of being a DR. Dr's make commitments and honestly it would've been easier to get smacked in my face than to hear this and I will not stop here! Dr Brara if you ever read this...let your ego go...It doesn't look good on you, it doesn't serve you and it doesn't serve your patients who need care and as a Dr. this is truly a big shame on you! and NO ONE WHO IS DEALING WITH MAJOR HEALTH ISSUES SHOULD GO THROUGH SOMETHING LIKE THIS!!!
