Dr. McFadden has been my cardiologist for several years. I was referred by a cardiologist in Lompoc when he found my heart was skipping quite a number of beats and I needed a pacemaker. Dr. McFadden was extremely competent, both professional and kindhearted and gentle. He spent a fair amount of time with me post-procedure and interacted with my friends and me engaging in our conversation and making us laugh. I find him to be the consummate professional as well as a delightful person.
I just saw a negative review and feel that I have to defend Dr. McFadden. He was my cardiologist from 2004 through 2012, after an MI, a PE, and two CABG's. He placed stents in my OM in 2007. I moved far away from Goleta or he would still be my main cardiologist. Dr. McFadden and his former partner, who retired, wrote the textbook used in the 90's and beyond. There is not a more experienced cardiologist in practice in California. The negative review implies that Dr. McFadden's staff made light of someone's illness. If so, this does not reflect on Dr. McFadden, as good help is hard to find in Goleta. During the 8 years that I visited his office regularly, his staff was exceptionally professional and compassionate. I see a lot less professional medical staffs where I am now. I would and have trusted my life to Dr. McFadden, and recommend him to anyone in need of a cardiac specialist. I did have other cardiologists in Santa Barbara who did not meet my needs, or temperament. I am lucky to have found him.
Dr. McFadden is super nice but I'm mostly writing this because while he may be in #210 but you go in door #208. It's not far but I was taking my dad to an appointment and he's not in great shape so going directly to the right door would have been easier.
