Dr. Bina Ahmed moved from New Hampshire where she was an Interventional Cardiologist at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and also Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Geisel School of Medicine. Dr. Ahmed completed Internal Medicine residency at the University of Massachusetts, a Women's Health fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, followed by general Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology fellowships from the University of Vermont. After ten years of academic practice where she was an active clinician, teacher and researcher, she chose to move to Santa Barbara to start the next chapter of her career surrounded by all that Santa Barbara has to offer.

I would definitely recommend Dr Ahmed. She was patient without being rushed, answering all my questions and concerns with informed medical advise. I found her to be knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I feel fortunate to be in her care.
I have not felt like Dr. Ahmed has treated me with personalized care. She hasn't taken my full diagnostic picture into account and it's clear that she doesn't read previous appointment notes before seeing me for an appointment. I've also experienced a lack of follow through on monitoring run-of-the-mill cardiological health metrics, such as cholesterol. I was also surprised to learn she wasn't familiar with the fairly small collection of prescription weight loss medications available to patients. Finally, if you have a form of dysautonomia such as POTS, I don't recommend seeking out care from Dr. Ahmed. She has very little knowledge in this area.
I've had excellent care from Dr. Ahmed. She is thorough, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and has a great bedside manner and sense of humor. If you are building your personal''medical team' in Santa Barbara I'd highly recommend her as your heart specialist.
