VCA Bay Area Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Hospital

We moved to the U.S. less than a year ago, and communicating in English is still challenging for us. When our cat Snow started vomiting every few days, we were extremely worried. Fortunately, we met Dr. Alice Wang and her amazing team at VCA Bay Area. Dr. Wang explained Snow's condition and treatment plan in clear Chinese, and she never pushed unnecessary tests. Thanks to her professional care, Snow has stopped vomiting and is slowly gaining weight again. We are truly grateful for the excellent treatment and support. Highly recommend Dr. Wang and the VCA Bay Area team!

If I could give 10 stars to the cardiology department here, I would! Finding out that your puppy may have a serious heart condition is never easy. And I called a few different cardiologists referred by other vets and I found many to be cold over the phone. But not VCA Bay Area Veterinary Specialists. It all started with my initial phone call and Briana answered the phone. She was kind and patient and answered many of my questions. I even called back multiple times and she never tired of my calls. I even talked to two other people and they were equally pleasant. Then at our appointment Briana greeted us just the same. Abby, the vet tech in cardiology was sweet and very good with Trixie, my dog. She explained to me what they were doing for her and she answered my questions. Charissa in the back treated Trixie like a princess. And Dr. Walker...I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Walker. Meet her yourself and you'll get it. This is a doctor that truly cares about the animals and their families. She took a lot of time to explain to me the outcome of all the tests they ran. She was patient, kind, nice and Trixie just loved her. She answered all my questions and thoroughly explained things so I could understand. She never rushed me out the door and really cared about Trixie and her care. Thank YOU VCA cardiology for everything. It's been a while for me to digest my dog pass away. I am really thanks all the staff at VCA San Leandro to support my family during the whole process, Niko is my first dog and he is like my kid. It's really difficult. Thanks Dr Alice Wang give suggestions for what we can do what we should prepare and she did follow up every week for the status. I am pretty confident if I have a pet later, VCA will be my only choice even I need to drive twenty minutes more than others. Thank you very much!

Dr. Peralta in Internal Medicine and the entire staff at VCA are incredible. The love and care they show for you and your PET are immaculate. Would without a doubt, recommend VCA BAVS to anyone. Your pet will get the best treatment here. Whether it be emergency or specialty care. Rest assured, your pet will be in the best hands. This emergency vet is not one I would recommend, Who takes advantage of clients in their emotional time. I took my puppy here about 2 weeks ago and sadly we had to put her down. We were told there was nothing they could have done to save her. We had a very hard decision to make to set her free and put her down. We were so sad and emotional. We were told a price to euthanize and to receive her ashes back to us. We were told to go on a website because they use a third party for cremation and to give the address we would like the ashes to be sent to. What we were not told was it was going to cost us an extra $435 to the third party company for the puppy's ashes back. At this vet we paid $350 for euthanizing and an extra $435 to receive the ashes back. This is insane. If we were told this at the office we would have brought our puppy home and buried her ourselves, instead we were tricked to leave her with them and it would cost us more money to get her back home where we can mourn and send to her to freedom. I am devastated. I feel taken advantage of and disappointed in the company. Side note: we had to put our senior dog put down a few weeks prior to this due to illness that was uncurable. Our normal vet made the experience peaceful and half the price and we received her ashes with in 4 days. With all this said I writing this review to wish this office will take this review and change their way they handle hard times for future clients. At the end we don't have our puppy's ashes and we don't know where they are. And refuse to work this vet office.
