09.09.25 1:15pm Dr. Swaminathan, a U-Penn Med School alumni, is daddy's new Cardiologist at Santa Clara Valley Health Center (Bascom location) and he is an excellent physician and also has perfect manners. Very detail oriented, caring, and careful to not over prescribe medications or unnecessary procedures considering daddy's 85 year old condition. 09.11.25 5:37pm Dr. Swaminathan called after hours, dad had his Echocardiogram done at 2pm, to let us know of the results. We were very touched that this Specialist would call after hours to inform us of the findings and are truly grateful to have this very kind and caring physician as our Cardiologist. And yes, we are very interested in adding the Rx Diabetes drug Jardiance, per Dr. Swaminathan's recommendation, to be used off-label in dad's protocol as he's been diagnosed with Heart failure with a Mild Range Ejection Fraction (EF 45-50%). *Jardiance (empagliflozin) is approved to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalization for heart failure in adults with mid-range ejection fraction (HFmrEF), which includes the range of approximately 41-49%. Studies have shown that Jardiance provides benefits across the entire spectrum of heart failure, including heart failure with mid-range, preserved, and reduced ejection fraction.
