I have a wonderful and talented cardiologist - Dr. Kwa - who I have been with 9 years. However he is supported by a mediocre staff. These last 7 months I have been forced to spend more hours than i care to think about doing the staff work, for the staff, in order to resolve billing and authorization issues for a new course of treatment. I have had my course of treatment denied, by Apex, because of a billing issue between the insurance company and Apex. After having to dig into the issue I found that the staff either overlooked or ignored the insurance company procedures. This staff may be overworked or lack the expertise. Either way it has been a burden that I am expected to unjustly take on. Today I was lectured by the receptionist about insurance matters and why it was not the responsibility of the Apex to find a solution for this critical health treatment.
