Went to MRI on Saturday August 2, 2025 at 1pm. I was on time and escorted to the MRI by a bubbly female tech We chatted and joked on the way down, but also I explained in detail that I was very susceptible to vertigo which would induce severe nausea and possible vomiting. I explained that I could not lie completely prone that my head had to be propped up a bit. She seemed skeptical for some reason but offered to comply with a pillow. I thought it might be enough but then asked for two. We were proceeding but at the last minute I believe it was the female tech who said that I might not fit in the unit and abruptly pulled away one of the pillows. This induced intense vertigo and nausea. I had to call out loudly to tell them to stop. I had to wait several minutes to collect myself and partially recover. I could tell they were confused and even a little annoyed They then provided the other pillow so that I could prop myself up properly They never once apologized for what happened to me or even inquired how I felt We proceeded with the MRI. (By the way since it was for my knee and my head never went inside the unit why was there even a concern about my head fitting inside) Once finished I felt rushed by a male attendant to get up. I told him to wait until I was ready to orient myself to avoid further vertigo which he finally accepted. I explained to let me do this at my own pace. This type of explaining and justifying was all very difficult because I was overcome with vertigo and nausea. Part of the problem is that it is an invisible condition that is not met with empathy by people seeing it from the outside. This was exemplified by the two techs in radiology Next I had to ask them to guide me to my locker key across the room The male tech had no idea what to do to assist. Finally I asked someone else to guide me to my locker to get my things I believe it was the female who did this. My eyes were closed When I came out of the locker room they were all gone. I was standing there all alone. I had explained how I was feeling but they just left me. I was overcome with nausea and the feeling of abandonment. Again never did they ask how I was feeling or if I needed any more help I just stood there for a few minutes until someone happened along and guided me to the waiting room. From the moment I first went prone until I got home I was dizzy and nauseated. It is almost impossible to think straight let alone give directions for assistance when you feel this way I was an employee of Scripps for 44 years and have always touted our superior patient care. Don't think I can do that any longer. Scripps RB please feel free to contact me. Look up the appointment date and time. Patient initial JP

The staff here in the cancer treatment room are all excellent. Parking is the problem. The parking structure is dangerous: narrow lane for 2-way traffic (which is shared with pedestrians),no lighting so it's like parking in a cave and spots so narrow that many are unusable because cars are often parked on the line.

MEDICARE BILLING FRAUD! Went to see Monica Budianu, Rheumatologist at this location after waiting 3 or 4 months for an appointment. Arrived 15 min early for my appointment as instructed. Waited in the outer waiting room for over AN HOUR. Approached the reception desk and asked if the doctor was running more than an hour late for her appointments and was told YES, she was running an hour and a half late. I asked why on Earth patients were not called and notified so they could come in an hour and a half later than appointment time and was met with a shrug. Things went downhill from there, if that is even possible. I was told I could just cancel my appointment and wait another 4 months for a new appointment, or proceed to wait another half hour. Nice choice. I decided to wait since I was in extreme pain with arthritis and an injury to my shoulder. I was finally called back to the treatment room, and the doctor looked at xrays that were taken by a different doctor 2 weeks prior and told me I needed to see an orthopedic surgeon. Total time spent with Dr. Budinau after waiting for an hour and a half past appointment time was 10 minutes. Received a bill from Scripps showing my insurance was billed for $733., including $250 for "surgery" (huh??) , $35 for an "allergy injection" (I have NO allergies) and $453 for a "45 minute or more" face-to-face consultation with the doctor. I called Scripps billing dept and was told that is why Dr Budinau wrote on my chart, so to call the doctors office directly. As if I want to spend more time than the hour and a half plus travel time I already wasted on this quack. I called the doctors office and spoke to an extremely condescending clerk who told me she will make a note of the charges I am questioning and the doctor will get back to me. Won't hold my breath. In the meantime, I have filed a formal complaint with Medicare as well as my secondary insurance for BILLING FRAUD. Read the other reviews of this clinic and apparently I am not the only person this has happened to. I think the State Dept. of Justice, the Medical Board of CA and the US Dept. of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General, will be my next calls. And to the Scripps employee that will surely respond to this review with their canned response and tell me to send my info to: patientfeedback@scrippshealth.org , save your breath. I have contacted Scripps "patient feedback" several other times over the years regarding substandard care for another family member and received ZERO response. Your 'patient feedback" or patient advocate person is non existant. I do not believe such a person exists since no one ever responds. EVER.

Today I'm in Scripps Clinic Infusion Center on the second floor. The facilities and staff are considerate, well organized and pleasantly professional. My Infusionist is Monella, an RN. Monella and her colleagues are a delight. Monella is the best kind of professional you could ever meet because she made sure that I was comfortable, and she gently and verbally prepared me for each step of the process including the removal of the needle at the end. She and the other staff were clearly and impressively focused yet happily chatty; yet in the knowledge that they were each highly trained and credentialed, and prepared for eventualities well beyond the routine. Yes, I felt comfortable; but I recognized professionalism and I knew all was well. (In turn at subsequent visits Cheryl, Wendy and Kristin each approached the same process remarkably differently and competently. They're all wonderful Professionals.)
