On December 1st I had a Transesophageal Echocardiogram done by Dr Oh in the Cath dept. Dr Oh is amazing, compassionate and kind. He explained everything to me in detail. He is a great Dr. The RN Elizabeth is terrific too. She knew my anxiety was high and helped me thru it. Thank you!! Landon was the technician who handled the Echocardiogram. He was kind and listened to my anxiety about the tube being put in my throat since it isn't very wide since I have EOE. Landon explained this to the Dr and told him they could use a smaller tube that he had available. Talk about knowing your job very well. He is top notch and this Hospital is very lucky to have him. I was lucky too. Thank you

Honestly -10 stars... I'm extremely disappointed with the care I received (if I can even call it care) from this facility. Last night 11/13/25 I went to the emergency room here for pain in my arm after having my Nexplanon Birth Control removed. Me and my husband waited nearly 5 hours just to get no help, the nurse ran basic tests and said I passed them and STILL I got no answers. They ordered bloodwork and wanted to ordered an ultrasound as well, although I didn't even get the blood work done because of how long the wait was. I was told with the symptoms there could be a blood clot which was scary to hear knowing they were going to take hours to help me. We left with no help and went to Mee Memorial Hospital in King City where they informed me that it was simply inflammation in my muscle from removing the implant. The nurse simply looked at my arm and could tell that was all that was wrong. Then when I explained what happened at this Salinas facility they told me the blood work and ultrasound would have been unnecessary because there was no sign of infection or a blood clot, they basically said Salinas Valley Health is not taking the correct precautions and don't know what they are doing. If the situation was worse that they anticipated the wait could have caused more serious complications..... Shame on this facility for they way they treat their patients.

Came in at 8pm- still waiting currently 11:30pm, came in because my woman had her birth control taken out. Been having constant pain and we been sitting tired. No cleaning on the cut. Just bad.. workers in there just took too long as well ended up leaving. Date November 13.
- Also those wait times got to stop as well, what if someone really has an emergency waiting hours will kill them even minutes. Real words, act fast.

What should be a place that provided the most compassion and empathy is surprisingly the last place you want to go for that. My partner went for what was supposed to be a 48 hour check up on his abscess as they instructed him to two days prior when he went to the ER. He went in and was seen after 2 hours by Dr. MARKOVTSOVA only for this doctor to give the some of the worst bedside manner ever. I do not know how she is employed let alone a DOCTOR when she lacks basic compassion or understanding. She removed something from my partners abscess area when doing the check up and when my partner flinched in pain all she had to say was "yup, there's no other way to do it so." Rudely and in a monotone voice. Not to mention she began by saying "so? What's the problem?" With attitude when she walked into the room to do the abscess check making other dry comments with a tone in her voice as if we were a waste of her time. But of course, nothing will be done because doctors like her are never punished and they will continue treating their patients as if they're inferior to her.

I would give zero stars if possible. I was seen in the ER here once (August 27, 2025) and it was one of the most egregious healthcare experiences of my life.
Despite arriving by ambulance in severe pain, weakness, and unable to eat, I waited nearly two hours only to be told "the doctor is busy with sicker patients than you." No urine test, no bloodwork, no IV, and no medical screening exam were ever provided. Instead, I was offered only inappropriate medications (Toradol, Suboxone, Gabapentin) -- all previously ineffective or unrelated to my condition. When I refused unsafe substitutes, staff pressured me to sign an Against Medical Advice (AMA) form, even though I was not refusing care.(I never signed it and was discharged with ambulance record only)
Security was stationed outside my room, the charge nurse gaslit me, and the physician (Dr. Navarro) made a prejudiced remark: when I questioned Suboxone because its used for drug addicts, she replied, "and I'm not about to make one," implying bias and stigma. Staff also refused to provide written explanations for denying continuity of care.
I was ultimately wheeled outside and left at the curb in a wheelchair without a proper discharge summary -- only given paperwork that wasn't even part of the hospital record. My daughter had to order an Uber to get me home. The only compassion shown was a blanket from a nurse before leaving me outside.
To make matters worse, I later received suspicious and unwanted phone calls from the hospital despite my explicit directive for email-only communication due to CPTSD and documentation needs. These calls felt evasive, retaliatory, and retraumatizing.
This visit raises serious EMTALA concerns for failure to screen or stabilize, patient abandonment, coercion, and retaliation. Even one visit was enough to confirm systemic neglect, hostility, and unsafe practices at this hospital. Patients deserve dignity, safety, and proper medical care -- not intimidation and abandonment.
Update (Aug 30, 2025 @ 10:00 AM): Salinas Valley has chosen not to respond at all. This silence speaks volumes and further confirms their lack of accountability for patient safety and rights. My review remains as a documented account of systemic neglect, intimidation, EMTALA violations and unsafe discharge practices.
